SL's GPU is weaker than the one in X5. And x5 has better build quality.

ok im having a hard time deciding whether i should pay more to get a better phone such as sgs, sl or desire s compared to the x5.  im just afraid that if i get the x5 its not future proof enough compared to those models?

the nexus s is that cheap? anyway yea im having a super hard time choosing and considering the prices are near but some ap/ori set

Galaxy SL is the best buy at only around 1.2k, but the design may be a little outdated though if you dont mind

Ok, filled up those requirements. My confusion starts here:

1. which devices can be ported passes Gingerbread, as there's rumors that i9000 going to receive Gingerbread as last possible OS. simply, for long term investment, which is best to go?
2. Does amoled really worth to aim for? as for nexus s and galaxy s, s-lcd vs s-amoled with the same price, really confusing.
3. As i9001 is currently not in the market yet (although can be booked already), does it going to be better in terms of hardware long term capabilities(diff processor/diff gpu/same specs on others)?
