1. Brand -- Ideally 'renowened' brand like htc, samsung
2. Budget -- max is 2.3k. lower is better
3. Specs -- faster is better (see what i will use the phone for...)

4. What you need in the phone:
* MUST HAVE: 3G video calls (not those using apps)
* MUST HAVE: Good & fast camera and video to capture the moments -- especially kids (the run around and hard to get them to stay still).
* 1080p video recording would be nice.
* nice to have flash on the phone (unless it can also take good low light photos without flash)
* gorilla glass would be nice
* play some games like angry birds
* twitter (i know its more an apps, but just stating what i wanna have)
* read news and surf web (smartphones can do all these, i know)
* wifi hotspot (pair with tablets -- so need it to me infrastructure mode, not ad-hoc)

currently using SE k618i. it's a dumbphone (as opposed to smartphone). can't do surfing, etc... but it fulfils my MUST HAVEs.

oh ya... sorry, forgot to add. sgs2's been on top of my list. i wanted to wait for sme unit but it would seem like the launch gets 'delayed'... latest news is now only launching in jul/ aug.

dun think my current se k618i can last that long. it's now always on life support (charging). not charged, i'm only getting a max of 10mins talk time.

since there's no official launch and i dun think maxis will come up with a super offer (seeing how they tend to make the phones under their promo so UN attractive), i figured its time to look for something else...

i guess i might have to ask the sensation pros if there's a way to 'fix' the video call thingy. the other party i call using video call does not have a smart phone. so installing apps is really, really out of the Q.

well, i just need to get older model that fits budget. use Gtalk instead of 3g video calls.

probably now wanna check and see what is available with my revised requirements... and focus on good camera recording (stills and videos). then problem solved.

but maxis plan is super expensive! digi smart plan... rm68/mth. 'unlimited' some more.

its my 1st time looking for android phone, so im not really sure about others spec. Maybe the performance of the phone (UI?).
both are large screen.  But which have better screen?

1. HTC Desire S or Samsung Galaxy S.
2. I found a shop selling both for RM1200.
3. Spec-wise, both are quite similar.
4. for requirements, please refer below.

What i like on HTC Desire S:
i) aluminium body
ii) htc sense
iii) official gingerbread firmware out of the box

What i like on Samsung Galaxy S:
i) 4" super AMOLED
ii) slim profile
iii) built in storage

What i dislike on HTC Desire S:
i) wifi death grip issue
ii) 3.7" screen is probably a bit small for me

What i dislike on Samsung Galaxy S:
i) cheap plastic body
ii) no camera flash

So, i would like to ask for your kind opinions on which is better.
And i would also like to know if the thing that i likes and dislikes, will or will not have a major effect on my experiences with both phones.

i have htc desire (unrooted) and iconia a500 (unrooted). just wonder which phone is better/worth the money to buy compared to my htc desire?

usage- calls, sms, calendar, hotspot with my iconia, not much a picture taker (already got dslr), alarm clock, fb, angry birds, maps, calc, internet... etc etc [basically the normal stuffs]

Hi, newfag posting for first time here. I'm looking to buy my first Android phone sometime next month. Need some recommendations.

1. HTC, Samsung, or Sony.
2. Budget is below Rm1000 (can top up a bit)
3. Any processor is fine but must not lag playing games such as Fruit Ninja. OS as long as can upgrade to Gingerbread it's fine.
4. Need camera with LED Flash, decent screen resolution, and Adobe Flash support (no Flash is also fine I'll just use the Youtube app).

I've been eyeing the HTC Wildfire S but I've read reviews saying it's processor is slow and whatnot ie; better buy older phones but with higher specs. Any help given is truly appreciated.
