hear from people. Nexus S multitouch is not accurate, pretty messed up. but there may be a update to fix it in the future =)

Added on May 6, 2011, 10:38 pmpick sl if you like camera
pick ALM(acer liquid metal) if you don like camera that much. upside of it is higher GPU, 2.3 GB in future confirmed, better build quality + more unique design (some hate it) , cheaper than SL that's what you want. xP. (go for ALM just + rm60 then you get a higher class phone than ace.)

Galaxy Ace would beat the rest. If you don't want to spend too much and this is your first android phone i recommend Galaxy Mini. Since you can sell it off and you won't lose too much money. Ace if you're already an avid Android user.

Okay... Need some recommendations for an android phone...
I'm getting my first android phone (currently using SE w810i... and wanna upgrade since i really nid GPS)

1. Brand => anyone would do...
2. Budget => around 700-1k (is this too low?)
3. Specs. => I wanna get the most out of what I pay... but I'm not sure what specs I can get...
my fren told me not to get android 2.1, since it only allows user to install apps on local memory...
I would prefer if it's a newer OS with OS update option (to a newer OS)
For screen size... hmm... around 3 inch would be gud i guess
4. Features:
- Gud battery life... can last a full day of usage without charging...
- Multi-Touch screen which is sensitive enuff
- 3~5 MP camera, with flash and auto-focus (am I asking for too much from this low budget?)
- Wi-Fi

I guess that's all at the moment...

Thanks in advanced for your recommendations... Sorry if it's too lengthy...

WTF SGA(not recommended?) are you kidding?

anyway pick SGA out of all of those. i was gonna buy SGA but then it's out of stock and i hate waiting so now gonna buy SGSL soon.. (SL is just +200 you can get a better + higher spec) but since your range was from 700-1k.. i guess SGA would be just nice enough for you. it got all the spec you have just mentioned.

ALM can run flash 10.2 but Ace cannot.

Build quality on the ALM is better. Ace has a better camera though.

RAM wise, ALM wins too with 512 vs 384
Screen resolution wise ALM wins again with 800x480(WVGA) vs 480x320(HVGA)
Both ALM and Ace are getting Gingerbread though.

oic... thx... but is flash essential?

Camera is really essential for me, as it'll be digital camera replacement for me... but from wat i read in review, the video capturing is really bad...

Hmm... maybe i should up the budget to get sth even more decent? Cz i rly hope can get sth tht last for at least 3 years...

Flash is essential if you play videos directly from your browser instead of playing it through a medium like Skyfire or YouTube(application). Its recommended but you don't have to have it. It also has a better GPU so it might help with gaming. Ace's camera is still not good enough to be a digital camera replacement. I recommend you buy the Xperia x10 instead. Its a good digicam replacement. 8mp led flash cam. Or you can opt for the Motorola xt720 which also has a 8mp camera but instead of using a LED flash, it comes with a Xenon flash. Much better than LED flash. xt720 is less recommended because of the stock 720mhz processor and it is stuck at 2.2

shocking.gif SGA fanboy?
with the similar price ALM and huawei X5 specs simply outrun SGA...not to mention SGA wifi+SOD problem
do some research before u recommend to others lar bro..
ur preference on SGA doesn't mean that it's a good choice for others doh.gif

since you have the budget for it, I suggest that you stick to your current choices,
both are the top of the line phones from the respective manufacturer,
and continue doing your research on it to find out which one you'd prefer more

another phone that you might want to pay attention to is GSM version EVO 3D
BUT that is just a rumored model, so far there's no confirmation that its even available or not.

Hi, i've been eye-ing on htc desire z for awhile.. partially because of the physical keyboard..
still wondering how much exactly is it and is it a good buy?

My budget's around 1-1.5k. So I'm still open for other recommendation.
I will basically use it for light gaming, websurfing, texting and IM-ing most of the time.. So yeah.. thanks in advance biggrin.gif

Desire S or Incredible S would be a better choice. Since you need a physical keyboard you can go for the Desire Z. Its still a good phone overall.
