Then why did you tell me to go post in garage sales?
rolleyes.gif

If what you meant was no one is allowed to post their own Androids for sale in this thread, then that was exactly what you would have said.

And besides, this is an Android recommendation thread, and I have an Android phone to recommend.

Just because you did not find that information useful does not mean that no one will, yea?

And it's not like I spam this thread advertising it every single day.

*
around 1.75k for ori
around 1.4~1.5k for AP

desire S far or less the same like IS/DHD [proc, screen reso, display type etc.]

desire S cheaper & more compact than them
not sure it got locked bootloader like HTC IS or not

but i will wait for neo and pro ...
if the price is over my budget i'll buy x10 or other within my budget

IMO,
its possible, could also impossible

possible because its dual-core era, who want be slowpoke..
especially LG Optimus 2X price are quite threatening [1899 RRP u get DC Tegra2] & those HTC which were famous for bootloader unlock for users' "freedom" are now gone [starts with locking the Incredible S]
so if they dare to throw neo/pro in 1.3k~ budget could kill mid-high end markets brows.gif

impossible because 99% same spec as Arc [1.8~1.9k?] while ur neo/pro just came in with 1.2k~ price tag somehow offers a videocall camera [pro got keyboard somemore] as well
much like civil betray their leaders laugh.gif

of course, arc still got what it takes... brows.gif
the nice sleek design thumbup.gif

i saw ur previous comments are pretty "nice" & "hints giving" against darkknight & HTC

no matter in terms of build quality, camera, community support...i wont recommend XT720 oso for now

1.5k could get DEFY for the tough android & swim with it
if camera, x10 is cheaper[oso runs on better processor]

Hi guys & girls,
I'm trying to get an Android phone (obviously), since SGS2 haven't reached here and needed one within this/next week, which one should you prefer?

I'm comparing SGS and Incredible S currently still cant make up mind. Any owners/users have experiences with these hand sets? Or any reason why would you choose the other one? Or even suggest another one (and pls give some personal review why you would suggest this).
Help is appreciated.
p/s: Many people here recommend Incredible S here, but review in gsmarena says 720p footage is jerky. Is this 'issue' still valid as the OS update is an on going thing.

pp/s: When SGS2 available in Malaysia?
*
whats ur max budget?
i personally prefer arc for single core tongue.gif
nice out-look, good camera [can said as the best in android & the best in low-light performance], LED-backlit LCD screen with BRAVIA engine display..

SGS2 launched on SK & UK, maybe can get AP few weeks later...

no doubt, se x10 is better sga
however, i not sure flash game can play anot
as now x10 is 2.1, not 2.2 hence no full flash support, hope the 2.3 update will bring it for x10~

SGS has a promised Gingerbread update and also tons of custom roms whereas gaming can be done from light games to the most demanding ones. Your requirements are pretty simple so any of these phones are fine. Incredible S can only be temporarily rooted so you can't consider it yet. DHD has bad battery life.
*
arc will(or already?)got unlock bootloader smile.gif
probably the top cameraphone in android & top lowlight camera performance in phone world...
BRAVIA engine display is awesome(can compete head to head against S.AMOLED)
http://www.gsmarena.com/you_can_unlock_the...g-news-2459.php

sgs oledi got tons of custom ROM around

maximum 2-point-multi-touch

want to upgrade wife's phone from E71 to an android. she'll need to use it for emails, heavy sms & calls. i'm thinking of HTC Desire S or IS

1. Brand.
HTC or Samsung or LG
2. Budget.
1.5k-1.8k
3. Specs.
nothing specific
4. What you need in the phone
long batt life
*
honestly, for what your wife need, i recommend you leave the android land & go to the blackberry land

blackberry bold is better for what she use & need
email, sms[typical spammerheavy messaging]
long battery life[blackberry]

Nokia don't have Android OS devices

LG Optimus Black is not released yet...no clues about its price though
SGSL & Optimus Black basically runs on the same 1GHz TI OMAP 3630 Processor
SGA is out from your choice because no flash & people say it got possibility of SOD occurs

the cheapest choice would be SE XPERIA x10/Acer Liquid Metal S120 [around 1k+]
but they dun hav gorilla glass though..
x10 is probably the best cameraphone to date with in Android [yes it is, before Arc arrive]
promised 2.3 official update[hopefully will bring full flash support], mediascape UI will be replaced by the SE latest UI for 2.3 though
source for x10 getting 2.3: http://www.gsmarena.com/sony_ericsson_xper...r-news-2450.php
however, x10 got bootloader locked, but i heard the XDA Dev team just bypassed it?

Acer Liquid Metal is officially 2.2, there's full flash support ready, but the camera is sub par [below average o.O]
unlocked bootloader, but seems like not much ppl supporting this device?

u might as well consider DEFY if u want something tough & can even go bath with your phone, record video under water brows.gif

if u consider SGSL, u can get SGS/captivate/vibrant AP set though which has Super AMOLED
why Super AMOLED?
SGSL has SCLCD [not SLCD], its quite decent but not as good sunlight legibility/battery efficient as Super AMOLED
also, SGSL is noticed for the much heavier weight compare to SGS & slightly weaker GPU/chipset

QUOTE(Lineage @ May 1 2011, 12:08 AM)
1. Brand.
Prefer HTC, but other better recommendation will be take in consideration..
2. Budget.
Below 2k.
3. Specs. (Processor / RAM / OS Version / screen size)
At least 1Ghz, OS version doesn't matter right? can upgrade later on.
Prefer 4".
4. What you need in the phone.
Smooth, fast and battery life can last 2 days for normal usage.
*
for HTCs, you got Desire S, Incredible S & Desire HD as choice
3 of them are pretty much the same except...
Incredible S got bootloader locked(Desire S also?) but better battery, much compact than DHD also has S-LCD
Desire S is comes with 2.3 while Incredible S comes with 2.2 & wait for update
Desire HD for those who like superb big screen but just LCD display (4.3"), unlocked bootloader but much weaker battery, heavier/bulkier than DS/IS
camera 5mp/8mp AF+LED Flash
so after all, its back to own preference between those 3

but i will choose SE XPERIA Arc > HTC IS/DHD/DS
reason: best cameraphone in android + best low-light camera performance, good outlook - SE XPERIA Arc with the Exmor R sensor + BRAVIA Engine display
arc runs on the same 1GHz snappydragon processor, comes with 2.3, better camera & screen display, nice outlook, slim & light weight
got HDMI port etc.

not really possible for all phones to always able to get the latest version [can get custom ROM though if official don't provide]
as hardware will get better & better, then will start to have hardware limitations
even you got the latest version, some feature might not available
like android 2.2 full flash support, has a hardware limitation [at least VGA, 550MHz dedicated Cortex A8 processor etc.] & the HTC Sense 3.0 UI needs dual core or [1.5GHz single core for the HTC Flyer tablet]

Acer Liquid Metal. RM1060 with 3 years warranty from SenQ.

Flash support with Q7230 processor, 5MP camera, FM radio present[thru custom ROM right?], multitouch 4 points.

Has an option to enable stock FroYo. There's been a leaked Gingerbread rom circling around recently. Possible that it might get Gingerbread in a few months.
*
yes, updated, x10 got 2-point-multi-touch so can pinch zooming rclxms.gif
as its current OS is 2.1, maybe will jump 2.2 & straight to 2.3 with flash icon_rolleyes.gif
the hardware is capable of flash support though [FWVGA, same 1GHz proc with HTC Desire]
[ori price]
x10 around ~1.3k
Acer liquid mt s120 RRP = 1099, i saw some 1k @ garage sales though
sgsl around 1.15~1.3k

they are pretty much the same except...
QUOTE(xDarkKnightx @ May 1 2011, 10:28 AM)
HTC Desire S. Only 3.7"(hence a much compact device [slightly lighter & smaller) but the battery is much better if compared to the IS. Comes with 2.3.3.
*
Incredible S got bootloader locked(Desire S also? not sure ~"~)
Desire S is comes with 2.3 while Incredible S comes with 2.2 & wait for update

Desire S 5mp main camera, VGA videocall camera
Incredible S 8mp main camera, 1.3mp videocall camera

obviously, Desire S is cheaper than Incredible S for at least 100 bucks

the capacitive key will auto-rotate

this is the little summary i told my fren in fb..

1) acer better build quility (alunimuin vs plastic)
2)acer more cheap
3) better processor + higher ram
4) higher PPL (crisper text when browsing web)
5) nice deisgn very nice
6) 3 geng notification light on the top
7) nice UI (i like only the homescareen, others looks weird but still ok)
but 1st reason is cheaper and i could get all of these.
and and and oso.. its upgrable to 2.3 android

1) bigger screen 4' vs 3.6'
2) better display (super clear lcd vs TFT)
3) better cam
4) better UI

then i dunno edi ==" haizz.. go for acer?

shakehead.gif

think simple:
display ain't that important, important is screen resolution that will affect the limits of apps compatible with your device, since both are WVGA, so this problem is out.
now talks about UI, its back to own preference, some like vanilla[purest form of Android]

so just move your butt to some store & try the phone out & you will know what to get
