That depends on you bro. Desire S maybe la. But i recommend dual-cores.  brows.gif

Custom ROM part is up to you.

For me,
I flash it like i change my pants.  whistling.gif  whistling.gif

Cannot afford dual core la bro.. thats why looking at the high end single cores. So which do you recommend?

Desire S IMO.

Incredible S if you can live with the locked bootloader.  shakehead.gif shakehead.gif

What about the Nexus S.. heard its a good phone. Worth buying? better than Desire S?

QUOTE(kanethesun @ Apr 15 2011, 05:15 AM)
what is locked bootloader?

Thing which only Desire S have and non in Incredible S?
*
Locked bootloader means that you can't flash custom rom. Custom ROM are stuff made by developers instead of the manufacturing company. For example, people with unlocked bootloader on a HTC Desire HD already has 2.3 gingerbread Mod but HTC has not announced the official 2.3 gingerbread.

actually I would pick Nexus S rather than DS/IS, but that's just me tongue.gif

the developer scene for Nexus phone is always the best

if you're getting a new phone, but don't want dual core, IMO go for Nexus S,
stuff you'd miss out on isn't that significant anyway.
its only being overshadowed by the dual core hype,
other than that its a very fine phone.

I bet flashing customs will be easier with it as well right? Since its pure google and no lock bootloader.

Get matte screen protector if you dont want finger prints all over it. But you reduce visibility. And support meaning updates on software / OS. I personally would go for the support and the community. Therefore I pick Samsung

galaxy S and SL different only the screen? not body recommend me galaxy SL, coz everybody keep saying superAMOLED is far better. let me read abit about SL version first.

SLCD < Super AMOLED. Super AMOLED is far better than the LCD displays.

Guys!! What are your pick on the Nexus S? Worth getting? AP set.. the stupid local ori set is far overpriced. Budget is around there. Need to be able to flash custom ROM.

How about Nexus S. current AP price for the phone is no much different than the IS and SGS. even DesireS AP set is around that price... the only concern for me is the availability to root the phone to custom room and future upgrade for adroid 2.4 later haha.

torn between many phone. too much choice. no wonder people go for iphone.haha
*
Nexus S has that, but do note you only have 5MP camera, 16 gig storage with no SD card slot. Can root, can flash, will receive 2.4 first..

Ok guys.. I decided not to go so high end on my smartphone. Came to my senses.

1. Brand. Any
2. Budget. 1.4k
3. Specs. 2.2 upgradable to 2.3
4. What you need in the phone: using for call, sms, internet and GPS and little gaming

I wouldn't mind an AP set..

HTC? Forget about it.

New ones all locked bootloaders now.  vmad.gif  vmad.gif  vmad.gif
Nexus S is good, SGS (if need microSD slot) not bad.

Should I get the AMOLED set or the SLCD set. Heard not a really big difference.

Wow guys.. now I'm thinking, moto atrix or nexus S. The moto atrix is currently 1799 cheapest at LYN forums and would go down even more when the 2 giant dual core beast release. Which should I go for?

Just smooth usage.. the only thing that draws me away is because of the single core technology. But like most ppl say, Nexus S on stock android actually runs really well compared to atrix with motoblur

I despise LG. Once again they never fail to stop the phone restart problem. Maybe you are lucky to hold a LG OX2 without restarting, but there are many complains as shown in LG singapore's facebook wall. :S I'll go for nexus S
