1. Brand. (HTC/Samsug/LG/Motorola/Others?)
Any - Preferably one which will provide update to latest android OS consistently

2. Budget.
1k - 1.6k

3. Specs. (Processor / RAM / OS Version / screen size)
512+Mhz, 256+MB ram, Anything that can be updated to latest android OS on my own with little effort

4. What you need in the phone (Sense UI ? Touch Witz ? Battery life? Form factor?)
QWERTY keyboard, Front+Back Camera, Camera Flash(not so important), Must have Search Button

alright, my old nokia n79 failed me and need to change soon

Ok, filled up those requirements. My confusion starts here:

1. which devices can be ported passes Gingerbread, as there's rumors that i9000 going to receive Gingerbread as last possible OS. simply, for long term investment, which is best to go?
2. Does amoled really worth to aim for? as for nexus s and galaxy s, s-lcd vs s-amoled with the same price, really confusing.
3. As i9001 is currently not in the market yet (although can be booked already), does it going to be better in terms of hardware long term capabilities(diff processor/diff gpu/same specs on others)?

Changing from old school cell phone to smartphone first time 

Need recommendation 

Criteria:
1. ORIGINAL (No AP  )
2. Budget: PREFERABLY <1.2k forum price (max 1.5k)
3. Capacitive, >3.5 inch screen, average RAM and CPU
4. Main usage: FAST SMS, surfing web using wifi, taking photo (have Acer A500, want a smartphone to do what a tablet can't do, or bad at it, thus the low budget)
5. Most important: GOOD camera (not asking for DSLR quality  ), not only in terms of MP, but also the quality of the photo produced (heard some smartphones that have 5MP camera but photo quality is worse than 2MP)
6. Question: Is CAMERA FLASH an important requirement for GOOD photo taking, especially at night? (Like Galaxy S which doesn't have LED flash while Ace have  )

Can suggest to me the best choices(AP/ORI doesn't matter first) with budget 1k-1.3k(or maximum slightly more if it do worth the extra money...)?

For the use of a completely smarphones beginner so which mean probably sure wont do any rooting or tweaking (thus open boxes/default performance and UI interface should be good enough for smooth using).

Hmm, the market price for it is?

1. Any brand also can.
2. Budget as low as possible. - cheapest if can..
3. Only need this.
-good battery life
-front camera
-skype and whats app

I'm asking this on behalf of my friend.

His budget around rm 500 - 800.

1)Don't want huawei brand
2)Camera must be at least 5MP with flash
3)Long life battery
4)Screen not too small as for web browsing(forexing)

Probably Wildfire S or any other low end phones with front cameras. Battery life wise, they shouldn't differ much.

may i know samsung galaxy SL and Huawei X5, which 1 is better? In term of smooth and sensitivity... may play some games also, so does the GPU for SL really worse compare to X5 while playing game?
