Defy, i would rather get the Huawei X5 or the Acer Liquid Metal to it. It does have the unique factor point though. It can run flash though. because its still has an ARMv7 processor even though it uses the older Adreno 200.
Arc, the camera is superb and overall its a good phone. I think they removed the Timescape UI that makes nearly all their Android phones sucky. Same processor as all the flagship phones(excluding dual core ones). The Q8255.

QUOTE(kuados @ May 16 2011, 10:26 PM)
Guys i really need your help in recommending a phone for me urgently.
I was planning to get the Acer Liquid metal and i was told by the phone supplier it would arrive this wednesday but he bailed in the end.I haven search around the shops but it was come to a conclusion that not many shops carry this phone.
So right now i am planning to get samsung galaxy sl which would increase my budget of course because there are no other phones which i believe that are in the market is similiar to the liquid metal.I wanted to get samsung ace at the beginning but with the SOD problems and the specs are lower than the acer i change my mind.

So right now if i were not be able to get the liquid metal in local shops by tommorow i will probably go for the SL.The only thing about the SL is that it has no FLASH! oh dilemma dilemma. What other phones that has at least a decent camera with flash, stable and between 1k-1.3k budget?
*
.... don buy Sl.. i'm alittle regret now.. first and most of all.. the heat up issue.. IT HEAT UP REALLY TOO FAST AND TOO HOT!!
2nd.. battery could last a day.. with moderate useage.. (i think this is standard for all smartphone so i don't complaint much about the battery even though i hear some other could last 2-3 days shocking.gif ==" with 3-5hr gaming, 2-3hr webing, 4-5hr music.. i think it's totally impossible.. shakehead.gif [liars] doh.gif )

finger-magnet surface all over. [going to buy new casing soon =D ]

ram is a abit littler but still can bear with it =)

overall good big 4' screen, audio with louadspeaker good (could be louder and would be great) , with earphone great!
good UI interface than AML
great camera + HD video record

i would choose AML because of
better ram
better GPU
got notification light on the top
camera flash (but camera sucks.. = pointless)

but its round botton shape is really bad as i hear some people said it's not good at putting on table as it keep rocking left n right(uncomfortable) but it shouldn't be a problem , just hold it on your palm rather than on the table when using it.

Added on May 17, 2011, 11:31 amand by the way SL is getting 2.3 GB!!!! ><

You can get Nilkin hardcase and softcase to protect the arc. It is quite good.
Why on earth that you let someone throw your expensive phone around?

Not to say throw but it'll prevent accidental damages from clumsy users and rough users from damaging their phone.

Hi all, am looking at the new dual-core phones, here's my personal list of pro/con, please correct me if I'm wrong:-

Motorola Atrix
Pro
- Internal storage big (16 GB)
- 1 GB RAM
- Highest resolution (960x540)
- Big battery (1930 mAh)
- Fingerprint sensor (cool ma...)
- Docking options (but hard to buy in Malaysia, and very $$$ also)
Con
- Locked bootloader (can root, but can't custom kernel/build)
- Ori not available yet (only AP)
- Pentile display means not as high reso as it seems (blurry?)
- No radio?
- Motoblur sucks?
- Stuck with Froyo

LG Optimux 2X
Pro
- 8 MP camera (1.3 forward facing)
- Ori is available, no need to buy AP
- Has Gingerbread available
Con
- Internal storage smaller than the others (8 GB), RAM also (512 MB)
- Smallest battery (1500 mAh)

Samsung Galaxy S2
Pro
- AMOLED, most beautiful and no Pentile
- Very big internal storage (16 or 32)
- 1 GB RAM
- 8 MP camera (2 forward facing)
- Lightest of the 3
- Comes with Gingerbread
Con
- Very exp (2.6k for AP?)
- Ori not available yet, when available still 2.3k range maybe
- 1.2 GHz (the rest 1 GHz only)

If anything missing please tell me. From this list I'm leaning to Motorola cos of the battery and storage (and the fact that S2 so expensive)....

Wait for S2's official launch for their Exynos version in June. The price would be around RM2300 for original sets.
