Which branch did you go to?
I made my purchase at The Hub.

I purchase IT goods from All IT as well as The Hub (Viewnet) at Lowyat Plaza on an off, the last being at All IT in mid-March 2011. There has never been an issue with AMEX acceptance at both shops so long you're paying the price stated on the label - this I can attest. Both shops aforesaid will however use a separate terminal for AMEX.

But if you bargain for a lower price like me (yes you can!), you have to ask them if the lower price (if offered) is applicable for purchase by CC. As far as I remember and according to the sales staff (at least for the Aztech section), All IT charges a flat surcharge of RM3 for each item (c/f per transaction) - this is not reflected at their card acceptance signage at the cashier. I still lean towards shopping at All IT because of AMEX acceptance and competitive pricing as well as free (2 hours?) parking with the All IT Rewards card - with purchase above RM100 if my memory serves me well.

hi..how about maxis express payment kiosk? they got accept AMEX credit card?
*
Yes, you can use AMEX at the Maxis kiosk - I just did at KLCC on Wednesday with my MBBKard2 Amex (no point swiping on weekend since I already got the max RM50 5% cashback on the first weekend of April 2011).

BTW, the regulars here will remember that I have attempted numerous times to pay my Maxis bill with Maxis-PayPal linked to AMEX (not Visa/MasterCard linked Paypal).

Afraid to report and confirm that this is not possible. After more than a month calling 123 and speaking to Maxis CS etc, they finally found the fault as to why my attempts to pay were always unsuccessful - payment of Maxis bills via AMEX linked PayPal is NOT accepted.

In my case the staff used an MBF terminal.
IMHO when it comes to competitive pricing Viewnet and Jayacom are on top of my list. I check their pricelists regularly online. There is no minimum spending required to swipe at Viewnet whereas at ALL IT the minimum is RM50.

You're right, it was MBF terminal for me too. I am kiasu and pick up Compuzone's pricelist first to check the base pricing (btw, they don't accept AMEX and as for Visa/MC, surcharge applies), then walk to Jayacom to check out the price and thereafter go up the escalator to All IT and Viewnet (The Hub).

For the inexperienced IT shopper, it is definitely too dizzying and not worth the effort. Only do this if you know where to find those stuff and for big tickets item - you can be surprised with the price difference and savings when added up, enough for a nice cup of coffee or parking, especially if you take parking charges and points accumulation into account. All IT is indeed rather competitive!

Definitely nothing against Jayacom as I do purchase stuff from them too, just that the last time I bought the Logitech Webcam C910, Jayacom was much more expensive than Viewnet and as for Aztech Homeplugs, it was considerably cheaper to obtain from All IT as compared to Viewnet smile.gif

Those times I need to run (just drop by quickly after work), I go to All IT. Quite a safe bet.
