Some questions about the battery here as well. From reading here, i assume that the battery is only replaceable by acer. We can't take it out ourselves. No problems here but since the battery is unique, it might be slightly more expensive to replace it? Does anyone know the cost of replacing the battery?

I'm sure that the battery can be replaced. It would be suicide if acer did not include battery replacement. Only you will have to send it in to acer to get the battery replaced. Correct me if i'm wrong.

is that a retail version of it? bcoz i saw vids from youtube that show really questionable quality of the hinges of 4830tg . its woobly n loosey. plus it so flexible that it almost look mushy!!

turn out my set was nothing like that n its probably an early proto or demo. i think i posted that vids in earlier page

I believe that the youtube video you saw was for model 4830t not 4830tg

I wonder why the price different is awfully huge! lowest price is USD$1133?? that is more then RM3.5k and its probably the i3 3830TG

Lets hope Acer wont change price when it officially launch.

Yah hope won't change price. But i was looking back at TH's first post and it says promotion price?!! Hope not...

Other than notable graphic performance in 4830TG, there is no much difference in 4750G ryte?

Only difference left is that the 4830tg looks way nicer than the 4750g. In my humble opinion of course. icon_rolleyes.gif

Just a weird question i've suddenly thought of. Will the laptop run if you take out the battery? I know, weird question but curiosity overcame me. biggrin.gif

Run without the battery, no..
unless you plug in the adapter biggrin.gif

Yup, with the power is plugged in of course lol (forgot to mention blush.gif) ...

So it will run like any other laptop if the battery is taken out. It's good to know that, cause you never know if you wanna plug in the laptop all the time at home and rarely take it out. Maybe can sell the battery later on if never use at all lol.

yes, because there is a button to turn on/off battery.
by the way, the battery is hard to remove

Oh there's a on/off button for the battery, it's different yah.

I thought my previous question while looking at this site where the 4830tg is operated :- http://acer.it168.com/thread-1477437-1-1.html
The battery looks easily removable (maybe for the techie person) but pictures can be deceiving lol
