But not the weight and battery life. Bring on the U series with SB

The new U series with SB... I'm not looking forward to it. Last I checked, they seemed to omit a discrete GPU from the models. Hoping they would at least stick in a GT525M.

Change the settings in the Nvidia control panel. Set Vantage to discrete GPU.

The Core i5 has 2 core and 4 threads due to Hyper Threading. That's why it is shown as having 4 cores.

I'm assuming you did the Vantage test using Performance settings at 1366 x 768 resolution?

Nope, it's default setting of 1280*1024. Clicking the red color link will bring you to pcmark website, showing all the setting/config I used smile.gif
*
Aight thanks for the info. Pretty good score there though. My GT335M only managed about 3.3k.

I already pushed my GPU to its limits once, performance gains wasn't that great for the amount of power it drains so I decided to use stock most of the time.

It's not 2nd generation Sandy Bridge. It's 2nd generation Core processor. biggrin.gif

The recalled and rectified chipsets are listed as B3. The ones with the flaw are the B2 chips.

2nd floor, center court area. It's clearly labeled Acer.

Personally, I rather get the A43SV or U41SV. But that's my own opinion.

Normally the rationale that a non-built-in battery is better if you game a lot is that you can plug it in and remove the battery.

However for myself, I game with it in anyways because I prefer peace of mind when working and gaming as the battery acts like a UPS.

Which floor is it? Same floor as McD/KFC?

Their IT center is at the top floor. Beware though, some shops sell stuff at cutthroat prices.

Take the 4830TG then. laugh.gif

The U41SV would win in terms of solidness (yes I was trying to bend it til it cracked during PC Fair) and raw battery life.

The 4830TG however comes close in battery life and that shade of blue looks lovely.
