QUOTE(alucard1412 @ Mar 25 2011, 09:44 PM) Yup, I'm guessing the price will be within that range as well Its very like manufacturers to give people headaches in whether to choose the 14 inch model (N43SN) or the 15 inch one (N53SN) Added on March 25, 2011, 9:47 pm QUOTE(Revamperz @ Mar 25 2011, 09:46 PM) walao Asus Malaysia hates Bluray only hahaasus hates bluray lah.. i wonder u people send the message to asus FB onot? well we'll see on n43.. QUOTE(Riddhy @ Mar 26 2011, 02:24 AM) 9 hours i think if you run it on lowest brightness and play no videos I think 9 hours is for lowest settings with no Wifi? but i will use for browsing webs and most sites have flash and watch youtube vids as well hopefully it will last meĀ 5 hrs Usually with Wifi on the battery life will decrease significantly But who cares, its already long enough for most people This post has been edited by [PF] T.J.: Mar 26 2011, 09:48 AM |

QUOTE(barca96 @ Mar 26 2011, 01:52 PM) Not the same... the new ones are chiclets!! I hope they type as good as they look~ Added on March 26, 2011, 2:14 pm QUOTE(cowithgun @ Mar 26 2011, 02:12 PM) some people prefer the new chiclet keyboard, mostly because they worry of dust stuck in the old TimelineX floating-island keyboard... i have been using it 5 months, only clean it once... so, no problem for me... Apart from racing games, when else do we usually use the arrow keys? some people prefer the old floating-island keyboard because you can type very fast with it... for me, i still hate both keyboard because of the small directional keys... may be fine if u dont play game... I'm quite outdated in games liao This post has been edited by [PF] T.J.: Mar 26 2011, 02:14 PM |

QUOTE(xearsol @ Mar 26 2011, 09:53 PM) this spec seems quite powerful, correct me if i'm wrong. i am planning to replace my aged xps m1330. seems on paper, this acer can run crysis2. how is the quality built? i have develped a trauma towards acer cause in the last 10 years, 3 of my acer laptops could survive a 5 month span. got fed up with acer actually. The previous Acer TimelineX 4820TG was splendid in almost every way, including the built quality.... since the new 4830TG has a totally different design... its hard to tell at this stage |

Well, its too early to tell... perhaps they've improved the cooling system? The old one ain't bad anyway, temperatures quite okay after driver update I think for the 4820TG

LOL, life cycle is usually applicable to organisms?
Anyway, Sept is still very, very far away in terms of technological "date" hehe There'll be way better models that time, you wouldn't want this one anymore |

You can always count on Acer, Asus, Dell and Lenovo to come up with good laptops at cheap prices
I really feel that Dell shouldn't have stopped the production of the XPS13.... its really a looker |

QUOTE(Razgreez @ Mar 28 2011, 04:42 PM) Feels solid, especially the main body although the hinges for the screen seem a bit weak almost wobbly - i gave the notebook a shake while open when nobody was looking. I can only hope they're stronger than they look given how thin the lid is. Well, several reviews did critic the G73's keyboard because of its stiffness and sponginess I've only had experience with a chiclet keyboard on a cheap msi notebook and my G73jh - the latter being quite a bit better - however in reviews some had said that the G73's keyboard has some flex and yet i haven't experienced any so i suppose i'm a light typer. In this regard the acer's keys seemed slightly less "jumpy" compared to the G73 (the responsiveness of the G73's keyboard really makes it a pleasure to type on) but that could just be my imagination or some asus bias forcing that perception in my subconscious. The smaller direction keys dont bother me since i game with the WASD buttons anyway although i had wished they weren't offset Didn't really get to run anything on it so i cant talk about heat issues etc. It's really compact though so i expect heat to be it's achilles heal. Just as long as the heat doesn't annoy my hands while typing and doesn't affect the battery negatively it should be ok but if it does either of those i will be rather unsatisfied. The built in battery is neither here nor there to me but removable would have been better Imho, its not really easy to find a good chiclet keyboard offering good typing feel even though alot of laptops have chiclet keyboard nowadays Tried the Apple keyboard, not very impressed, typing accuracy is good, but not much feel (not to mention it gets dirty really, really fast), Toshiba's keyboard is better Anyway, the heat will definitely affect the built-in battery....
