Closest spec and price is Toshiba with i3 and GT525M and that's 14'' with normal baattery..

Try use power plug, set to balanced for testing WEI.

The BSOD seems to be related to the network card, anti-virus..

Basically your external USB 3.0 HDD/SSD can transfer till its fullspeed since no more bandwidth bottleneck (USB 2.0).

go to the start menu, there should have acer eRecovery or some sort, from there burn the recovery..

It will burn the recovery partition, not your current Windows setup. When you done recovery, it will back to the first time you open the notebook.

Like this, you have a USB 3.0 flashdisk that capable to copy file at 100MB/s.
When you use it on USB 2.0 port, it will only copy at 20-30MB/s.
But if you use it on USB 3.0, it can copy at 100MB/s.

Less ram and hdd as well ?

As for the USB 3.0, it because the Intel chipset haven't natively support it, they need to use 3rd party chip like from NEC for USB 3.0 and also USB 3.0 need to provide more power compared to USB 2.0
Next year Ivy Bridge should bring support for USB 3.0..
