iPad 1/2 and GPS navigation, Anyone using? Pls share experience

Hi there,
Would like to ask if anyone here surrently using their iPad with gps profs like tomtom or Papago? I read from the web that this can be done, some say cannot... Got problem detecting iPad gps chip.. Yada yada yada..... Currently i don't have tomtom or Papago for iPad. Is it worth trying ? Very keen on having a 9.7 inch gps iPad so that navigation is very very easy to c while driving.. |

Believe me if you cant mount it while driving it is not easy and very dangerous

It's not meant to be used fir this purpose. Just get a garmin or Tom Tom, they are very cheap now.

im using it and mount on my dashboard. for me i like it because its a big GPS and batt life seems good.
Im using Papago 8.1 and its very fast lock the satellite. |

Thanks for the info guys, even though the screen is big and troublesome, it's a good contingency gps system... Will try soon.

hi, it can be done, i had tomtom with my ipad. just download and install. normal procedure.

I know that ipad is using aGPS. How accurate can it be through the cell tower triangulation? 10 metres radius?

I have Papago, it works very well. Locks on even faster than my Garmin!

I've tried Papago on iPad 3G, it works well. Very accurate.
