i got this prob last time during the darky 9.x days. i manage to fix it after flashing from that older speedmod kernel to a newer speed mod kernel
i duno wats going on, i stopped pursuing the whys and hows after fixing it to my much relieved.

i got my simply honey 3.0 fully working yesterday evening.
my batt is ok (i m on jve modem). but i dont lilke the theme. i tried to flash carbon steel 4.6 theme, but everytime sure kena bootloop. i not sure its the ROM's fault but at the moment it is quite stable. no FC at all after reinstalling back all my apps (except late last night realize that galaxy tuner doesnt work ---> another bummer). Smoothness, i think its better compare to my previous simply honey 2.5 (sorry, i din upgrade from 2.7xe, so i cant comment tho)

i ll stick to this, while waiting for the next stable gb custom rom (i bet its not going to be a long wait!)

just flashed chainfire kernel 3.1 and convert my system from rfs to ext4. phew.. took some time.. was abit worried.

erm.. i used it while i m driving normally, and music surely is playin in the background (not that loud of cuz). it can detect ok. sometimes i do tend to put it closer to the mic thats all

adobe reader is free as well in android market.

awesome. i was wondering about this before i selected this phone. no regrets. thanks to devs like supercurio and etc.. i would say its quite good. just my 2 cents tho

trust me. it aint that easy to brick (with download mode enabled). i had the same mindset until i managed to conquer the fear of messing up the phone (cheh.. like real only. LOL). Its not so bad after all especially there's sifu like fornaxlife, TS, silentser and etc (lots active playa in this thread).. they are very frenly and infomative. most of my info are from these guys or XDA forum.
