here is full instruction as per request (post here so other ppl who might need this will also be able to see):
What you need: virtuous 3.0.2 rom, android SDK tool, fastboot.exe, HTC sync
1. download virtuous 3.0.2 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1202422
2. copy the file to sd card, reboot to recovery and flash the rom via CWM (i think all ppl know how to do this, just google)
3. after flashing please just power off the device, don't reboot..
4. download android SDK, HTC sync, java from http://www.htcdev.com/bootloader/unlock-instructions/page-2
5. follow the steps and find the necessary files. adb.exe, AdbWinApi.dll and fastboot.exe
6. copy the files to a folder (i create a folder named 'android' in C:).
7. now power on your evo3d to bootloader (press power and volume down button), wait till it stops scanning and highlight fastboot by pressing power button.
8. on your pc, start>run>cmd
9. now direct to the folder with fastboot.exe (mine is C:\android), so i will type "cd c:\android" to cmd (without " ).
10. now extract the virtuous rom and copy the boot.img to the folder.
11. connect your phone. type "fastboot boot boot.img" (without " ).
12. your phone should reboot automatically to white HTC screen and in 1-3 minutes it will go to virtuous logo.
13. if the phone successfully run and you can go in already, turn off again, open the battery, put back battery, power on to bootloader (power + volume down).
14. again highlight fastboot, connect to PC.
15. now type "fastboot flash boot boot.img" (without ")
16. reboot phone and you are good to go with ICS.
FYI i came from leedroid rom before this, but i think it doesn't matter which rom u come from.
and i didn't flash the firmware. Ppl complaining radio is not good, i read somewhere but in XDA.
hopefully this helps.
