I got frequent shim noise recently.Using Shell 10w40.U experienced any shim noise before on ur engine?
What engine oil u used before shift to Eneos?any before and after review?

Shim noise is sumtin similar like "tek tek tek" the noise folow ur acceleration.

I heard from a mech that alot of ppl using HX 7 got the shim noise.He recom Castrol 10w40 or 15w40.
Edi,yup true also but atleast can make it quieter abit aite?already ask the mech for solution and he told me no need to replace shims or buckets,just need to do clearance.Grindvalve/top set + make clearance at foundry/machinery.All in all need RM500-RM700 kot.Kalo s@ni xpela byk duit

Yeah,i think the cost will be like that but i guess it's a permanent solution.

For me,i'll go for Castrol or PetroCanada 10w40 or 15w40 for my next service.Last service i tried Shell 10w40 (Cost me RM99),since then my engine loss power and shim lifter noise more frequent.Before shell,tried Bardhal fullsyn and PetroCanada Semisyn,never had any noise or whatsoever.Shell

What i mean is my engine seems to be rough/lembab a.k.a bunyi je kuat but jalan mcm lumbu.No such issue with Bardhal fullsyn or PetroCanada semisyn.Bardhal fullsyn i got it for RM89.90 while i'm not sure with the petrocanada,pomen reco when replaced my cracked oilsump,the receipt might be in my car or lost.
Since Helix HX7 been serving u well,u better stick with it.
Gonna try Castrol coz a mech reco,but don't know where to get the ori oil.Alot of recycled castrol oil nowdays.

I did exhaust and replaced my air filter to hi flow drop in but haven't do tuning yet.Now need FPR + tuning.RM40 just nice.I might be going on monday or tuesday.

any1 know wat FPR will saiful recomend n how much including installation there?
