UOA’s Jalan Ipoh development is being planned to emulate the success of Bangsar South
Temporarily called the Jalan Ipoh Land Development, UOA is planning a RM3bil gross development value (GDV) integrated city development sporting surrounding open spaces and expansive greenery, its general manager Eugene Lee said.
The Jalan Ipoh Land Development is intended to provide the community components similar to that of Bangsar South, such as residences, office suits, a retail mall and a hotel.
“The existing development around Jalan Ipoh is a mature one. When we purchased the land, we saw the potential of what it could be in the future,” Lee says.
UOA intends to build residential towers towards the back of the development where it is quieter than facing the highway.
Construction may begin in the final quarter next year or the first quarter of 2016, Lee says, adding that the project may take seven years to complete.
UOA is also planning for a retail mall of about 300,000 sq ft.
UOA intends to construct an access road from the Jalan Ipoh Land Development that will connect to either side of the DUKE as well as Jalan Ipoh.
This would allow traffic from Jalan Ampang or Mont’Kiara to get in.
The proposal for mass rapid transit to Batu Kentonmen, a residential suburb in Kuala Lumpur, would add to the area’s accessibility, on top of an existing commuter station in the neighbourhood.
