Guys,
I'm thinking of getting a media player. So far what I'm doing now is using my PS3 as a media server, but the PS3 has its limitations. Cannot read certain file formats.
So, I thought why not just get a dedicated media player. Trouble is, there are SO MANY out there to choose from...
Any recommendations?
The player should have the following:
- able to play ANY/EVERY KNOW VIDEO/AUDIO FORMAT known to man - user friendly - detachable HDD - have remote - have HDMI output, VGA/RCA/optical whatever output - stable firmware - wireless support? (for firmware upgrade maybe?)

you need to get from mid to high end player.. Normally, the price is RM300 and above. Actually, from your requirement » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « - able to play ANY/EVERY KNOW VIDEO/AUDIO FORMAT known to man - user friendly - detachable HDD - have remote - have HDMI output, VGA/RCA/optical whatever output - stable firmware - wireless support? (for firmware upgrade maybe?) cheap, low end player also can support it, except the wireless support.. cheap player can't do networking/wireless connection..

RM300 sounded about right usually sourced from china, a few fellow forumers are selling right here in this forum, most have frequent firmware update

If not please install http://code.google.com/p/ps3mediaserver/It should be able to play any format.

Slower than that, if you can still view HD content without stutter, that means something is not right.. like.. the HD quality is not up to par, etc..
