@ravewar, There's Leopold choice as well! spreading poison =D

Hmm, i wanted to collect some information here, Since the first batch Leopold Cherry MX 104 Key FC300R/500R will be mainly Focus Cherry MX Red Switch.

So... now i wanted to know how many of you prefer otaku version over normal version(otaku version means, all key will be blank without any lettering AKA Blank Key Cap)
You can even ask for the JP version.(but i doubt people are gonna get JP version thou =/)

So everyone will be happy to have a choice. Please tell me anything you want from this website and i'll try to bring in.(Must be Leopold Product Thou LOL)
http://www.leopold.co.kr/

But some people might be quite confuse why Leopold Keyboard has multiple versions like FC300R, FC500R, so i'll make some explaination here.
The model number has something to do with the layout.
FC300R = Korea Layout(Possible to only have English Lettering as well as Blank)
FC500R = US Layout(Possible to have Blank)
*
Well...I prefer normal version and FC500R.

I don't like the layout for the Big Enter Keys. Did not realize I order the Big Enter Key layout until the keyboard arrived at KLIA.
Too bad you weren't looking for MX Brown switches. If you were, I would have gladly offer to sell you my few days old 1008 for a special price.  brows.gif
How much is your special price? brows.gif

What's the 雷射雕刻鍵帽?

http://global.pchome.com.tw/?mod=item&func...0X&ROWNO=4&tm=u

What is the difference between these two (in terms of keycaps)?

http://global.pchome.com.tw/?mod=item&func...0X&ROWNO=3&tm=u

Which one is double shot?

雷射雕刻鍵帽 means laser etched. No double shots for Ducky's
They are pad printed.

The only difference I can see is the layout. One is ANSI, one is Chinese ISO (big Enter key)
*
Which means the keys letter will be easily teared out?
So getting the laser etched one is better?

none of the above is double shot. those high cost Keycaps are consider quite rare and expensive.

The first link you given, if i'm not mistaken, it is Laser Etched + Pad Printed with Coating.

The second link is just Laser Etched,
Hmm...With laser etched is better I guess?
Can those key caps last long (the letters wont be teared off easily, 'cause my hands are sweaty)?
BTW, the leopold red you bringing in is what kind of keycap?

each keycap cost $1.50 USD, so here it's roughly RM4.50 per key caps. Shipping from them to Malaysia is $5.50 USD(will be share among users that join with this purchase) Keycaps Order Max Quantity is 15.

Anyone joining? i'm buying a few PANIC and X%&#! Keycaps, Maybe total of 2~5 Keys. So.. there's 10 key left for you guys.

So... for me. i am still considering about buying few extra.

Do note only PANIC! and X%&#! Keycaps are Compatible with Cherry MX, other Keys are not compatible with Cherry MX.
*
Count me in.
I am getting PANIC! and X%&#! also, and HOLY SHIT ! and oh SHIT !(Black)

So total 4 for me.

The cheaper one is 1008, more expensive one is 9008
You can choose standard english keycaps, but it also comes free with black on black keycaps FOC for the 9008
*
So I guess the 9008 one is more worthy to get?
9008 has better overall built quality compared to 1008, right?

@Cyclone

Looking at the geekhack link you provided,

Seems like all novelty keys from pimpmykeyboard web site are no longer cherry mx compatible.

"UPDATE: As far as I can tell all "Pimpmykeyboard" novelty keys are no longer Cherry MX compatible. At least the batch I got from them Jan 2011 wasn't ."

Can you confirm?

Well..

i don't really mind, but some people might hand itchy and wanted to grab them as fast as possible  brows.gif  brows.gif

Since now 7 people will be sharing the shipping cost, so i think it will be affordable to everyone.

Well...I can wait until your leopold to be here.

Congrats.
Friday order today reach? Its the version that comes with free black on black keycaps?
*
Actually I ordered on thursday evening.
Yeah that's the version.
This One
I bought a ducky wrist rest too.

QUOTE(Cyclonechuah @ Mar 29 2011, 12:12 PM)
Added, enjoy the keyboard!

Btw, did you get the black on black key caps? to be honest, i have one set as well. But for quality comparison, The quality on the Key caps between on Keyboard and another free key cap set has difference. Keyboard Key caps has higher quality, and silk screen printing has some minor difference which can be notice able.
*
Yeah I got the black on black key caps.
I did not really go and compare the keyboard keycaps to the free key caps so I did not see any difference.

My initial thought is that the free key caps will be better than the default key caps...

BTW, the keyboard default is black on black too, sometimes really hard to see the key letter lol.

i think you'll have to try out first. because each person always gives difference feedback on the keyboard.
well, it depends on person's taste, each users on mechanical keyboard with different switches tends to have different feedback.
*
Before I got my blue switch ducky keyboard, I went to lowyat to test the black switch (SS 7G).
It's really stiff(compared to blue switch) but acceptable, however, overall I think blue is better on typing compared to black switch, for me at least smile.gif.
Now I realize I always bottom out the blue switch keys, is that normal? Maybe I should use black switch after all lol

The market and computer manufacturers do not think so though...

Tablet sale is start to rising and netbook is start to die off. Acer said that they will drop off netbook by 1-2years to come.
A good touch oriented OS will eliminate the need of a keyboard(even virtual one) as input. The only problems that remain is the cost(the price is still falling with the increase in market, supply and competition) and good input replacement to replace the role of kb(some ppl suggest sound recognition huh?). It is just the matter of time till those 2 problems being solved.

I believe with more and more well integrated virtual keyboard(like swype? but it not really suitable on huge screen) coming.

I also believe that some high quality and interesting touch screen based Action games/MMORPG will sure put another nail onto the coffin of mainstream laptop/desktop... cry.gif
*
No, it won't die. Power users still need keyboard, Developer etc.
Debug the system kernel using "touch screen keyboard"? No way....
