hi guys, looking to buy my first mechanical keyboard (full). going to use it mostly for typing, so most probably will go for either red or brown switch.
will watch this with interest, filco and leopold coming soon to malaysia oh yes!
just out of curiosity, how's the build quality of these two brands?
thanks.

found another mechanical kb, the ABS M1 (http://alturl.com/c9jcn)
looks similar to filco, and cheaper too. the switches are mechanical, but not cherry MX. (looks like ALPS or cherry ML to me)

QUOTE(kEazYc @ Apr 2 2011, 07:40 PM) What's the difference between the first generation of Filco and 2nd generation? Couldn't look for an answer from google. =\ i was also wondering. i think it could be a new pcb by filco -> http://www.diatec.co.jp/en/det.php?prod_c=744 it's a filco majestouch-2 red switch. new majestouch-2 with brown/blue/black switch could possibly use the new pcb as well. *this is my best guess. iirc, a filco majestouch-2 kb will have the number '2' at the end of its model name. @edifier,
are the filcos being pre-ordered in the tradezone (by moderno) the ones you're bringing in?

QUOTE(Iphone4Lover @ May 1 2011, 10:40 PM) Here you go(not sure if this seller having ready stock but you can always search for more, the term is Majestouch Mini(in Chinese Translate). http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=7431926867 Added on May 1, 2011, 10:44 pmhttp://geekhack.org/showthread.php?17636-1...-over-USB/page3Budget wise, choose the Black color PLUM. Aesthetic wise(personal preference), choose the white plum Specs wise, go for the i-Rocks(USB NKRO) Gaming wise, go for the ThermalTake Meka Mini(theoretically same like i-Rocks but it is marketed as Gaming Keyboard... ) Built quality wise + Japan fever, go for FILCO(it is having Japan Layout, shorter space bar for 2 extra keys). Fun wise, go for the DEVLIN. thanks for the link. the choice is now between filco or i-rocks how is the build quality between these two? price difference quite high. i don't think i need the KRO feature, not a gamer.
found another compact layout keyboard, cherry G80-1865LXNEU-2 (or HXNEU-2 for doubleshots), but more expensive than filco mini.
