Added on May 21, 2011, 1:32 pm QUOTE(ZainRain @ May 21 2011, 12:46 PM) Hey guys.. im very new here.. im interested in mech keyboard since the typing is so much better than the regular one.. Local mech keyboards are mostly steelseries 6gv2/7g, and razer black widows ....can u guys help me on recommending the keyboard for gaming and typing which is affordable.. i saw a few post about the Das Brown KB.. is it really good? btw is there any english version of taobao and pchome website? i cant read the Chinese letter.. If you want more choices of switches like cherry mx browns, cherry mx reds and other different models, you can order from pchome or elsewhere. mech keyboards aren't cheap and there is a reason for that. Expect your budget to be at least 400 minimum, and 600 at most. I've tried cherry mx black, cherry mx red, cherry mx brown switches so far .... Cherry mx black is too stiff for me. Cherry mx brown is just nice. Cherry mx red is softer than brown and is also very nice. I feel that you would be happy with either browns or reds. If you like soft go red. if you want it slightly a bit more stiffer get brown. Black to me is not pleasant, but apparently some like them Spacebar switch, i found the cherry mx grey and clears make a very nice spacebar switch. Cherry mx blue is clicky. I haven't used before but i don't i would like it because they are noisy. Also not so good for double tapping in fps games, although some say they don't notice it. But why put things to chance Mech keyboards is about using mechanical switches, in this case cherry mx switches. There is also buckling springs, topre switches ... however we all find the cherry mx switches best in terms of affordability :} buckling springs are very loud and classic. topre are very nice but very expensive as well. cherry MY are horrible. Cherry mx are good performers and still more reasonably priced when compared to topres. Another thing often overlooked is the keycap print, and plastic. Regular keyboards use cheap plastic, and the letters fade really easily because of pad printing. Better quality keycaps have are lasered, engraved, double shot or dye sublimated. QUOTE(lucidlts @ May 21 2011, 01:44 PM) @moogle that is like 120 bucks the red switch is RM1.456 per switch, more acceptable price compared to those in taobao which cost around RM 5~6 per red switch i thought it was was like 1.456 for 20 keys @storm88: pm if if it's cheaper than that @low yat 82: Sweet This post has been edited by Moogle Stiltzkin: May 21 2011, 02:25 PM |

das keyboards tend to have very wearable key cap prints. so those letterings basically will fade really easily, like those cheap rubber dome keyboards.
Also it's glossy. Finger print magnet basically kinda like the razer black widow. Just so you know what your getting into :} |

Enermax has a new mechanical keyboard at computex taiwan 2011
QUOTE Enermax has been making some pretty nice keyboards like the Acrylux and Aurora series and is now exploring mechanical keyboards. For the first time, they have showcased a very early prototype of their mechanical gaming keyboard known as the KB01X. No further specs are available except that it is fitted with MX keyswitches from Cherry. We are still quite some time away from a more final version slated for 2012 so we can expect alot of changes and designs along the way. It is good to see more makers are getting on board gamers will have more options to choose from in the near future. http://vr-zone.com/articles/enermax-showca...oard/12520.html |
