Not the best of performances last night but in the end it's 3 points in the bag and given that this is only Sunderland's 4th home loss the whole season, it is some achievement. If Dalglish's track record is anything to go by, we would be 2nd in the table had he been in charge from the beginning of the season. His record since taking over is on par with Arsenal's. Despite some of the negativity I've seen being thrown around in there especially after the losses to West Ham and Braga, there is a lot to be optimistic about.

Were we lucky last night? Lucky to get the penalty? Hell yeah. Kevin Frend got it right and his assistant got it wrong, it was clear as day. Were we lucky to win? Not if you ask me. Sunderland did have a lot of possession but does anyone remember Reina making a save? We created the best chances of the match despite Sunderland having more of the ball. Carroll won everything in the air but his touch on the ground was a little heavy. Possibly a symptom from being out injured for so long. Super bit of work from Suarez. He saw that Mignolet had shifted his body weight to the right anticipation the ball to be played across goal, and instinctively poked the ball in the near post.

Next game is away to West Brom where the players will be greeted by their former boss! Spurs will be away to Wigan.

If things go our way at the Hawthorns, we could end up right behind Spurs next weekend!

Spurs still got to play Arsenal (H), Chelsea (A), pay a visit to Anfield and then play Man City (A).  It will be a very tough fight to get 5th, but it certainly is not impossible..

Looking at the Tables, we actually hav a mathetical chance to go for position number 5, which is better then wat we was at the end of last season under Rafa

how come during the 1st 25 mins of the game we were trying Route 1 and it was obvious it didnt work and made Suarez 'lonely'. Why didnt we change tactics and play the ball on the ground ?

it you wanted to cross the ball to A.C i can understand but like all way from defence and hoofing it up ....

actually, it's not that Liverpool is jinx with bottom clubs but during this time of season, Liverpool happened to encounter relegation battler clubs which fighting for survival in EPL. it is not a surprise to see they work their socks of every match. it is always tough to win against Relegation battler clubs.

That's like being over optimist and the odds of it happening is freaking low...a bit unrealistic me think..

I'm glad that Carroll has finally opened his account. It must have been a sigh of relief for him, beginning to justify his hefty price tag. Been a fan of Carroll since the season started and I'm convinced he is a good acquisition despite what we paid for him. When fully fit, he is a handful for any defender. I'm also happy to see more and more lads from the Academy get a start, the latest being John Flanaghan. So far this season, we've given starts to Kelly, Shelvey, Wilson, Flanaghan and Spearing in the Premier League. When was the last time so we gave so many of the young lads the opportunity?

I much rather Insua than Warnock. Insua, Aurelio and a new LB signing in a rotation system is good enough i reckon.
