In all honesty, everything was really worrisome at the start of the 20 mins into the game. Sunderland looks stronger and definitely more determined.

Granted the penalty broke them, and as much as its controversial, its really the referee's fault to not have stuck to his decision. He could easily over-rule the linesman. Why didn't he? Simple, he could not be sure. If he was, definitely he would have. So to put matters to rest, it wasn't a penalty and yes, it was not a good call. But at least it wasn't a malicious intent by a diving individual dropping down in the box like Gyan on Agger to get a penalty on purpose, so yeah. or the way Webb or Riley gives them whistling.gif

We played like a team still needing time to gel. Misplace passes a plenty, still lack of understanding between Carroll and Suarez - remember if Carroll would have flicked the ball (that Suarez pass to him) back to Suarez that would have been a beautiful chance at goal. But all in all, Suarez came good again for the club when that tight angled right footed shot drool.gif In-FARKING-credible.

So basically if we were to be challenging anything, grinding out results is a must but luckily we didn't play that boringly with Suarez on board to provide some much needed entertainment.

Oh and I feel like he can bea bit of a drama-queen and that is quite annoying especially when you are cautioned for it. I suppose its in the heat of the moment and not because the money has gone up to his head and made it bigger. I just prays he never cries on the pitch, that would really shatter my image of him (south americans can be very very good tragic actors) blush.gif

Come on now, ease up on Torres already. blush.gif

He may be a Chelsea player now but we cannot and should not forget the things he has done for us when he was at the club. Yes he was not right in many ways but he wasn't wrong either since at his prime he thinks for himself more than anything else. Or we could always blame his agent. Just let it pass already.

If you really must know, the fans may already be turning on him as I have seen suggestion from the Chelsea thread that they should just put him as a defender and let David Luiz play upfront. I know it's just one comment but we all know it resonates the lost of belief that he is actually worth 50 million quids now. I only hope the fans don't all turn on him when he is at his lowest and hope he can bounce back. sad.gif

We may be labelled as the "best fans in the world" or at least working towards it, but I can say more than often we should be labelled "most tolerant fans" instead LOL tongue.gif

All good it seems we have split opinions about beating/bashing/lambasting on players that has left us, good or bad.

But take a quick check on how you want to criticise them. Imagine if you were offered a great job, great benefits and more than just that a chance at growing your career. Your current company may love you, you may have done wonders but because the job has a closing date, would you not choose to talk to your boss for an immediate contract release? icon_idea.gif

So what makes Torres different? He is thinking about his future (at his prime), his wife, his child and possibly a career worth some trophies or legacy he can leave behind. So if you are thinking what he did was wrong in an unforgivable sense, then seriously you guys are either delirious or not doing justice to yourselves.

I am managing a team of young talented individuals in marketing and in sales and if someone came along and pinch them off me, then normally i would ask myself if i have done enough to warrant them staying. if not, cest la vie, if I have maybe the other side is offering something i cannot hope to match. I would feel disheartened but there are so many factors involved I can only keep appreciating the fact they have contributed when they were here and I wish them well.

If their characters are bad-asses then I have nothing to say, but i wouldn't soil myself by hypocritically beating on them when i know it doesn't make me feel any better about myself.

Righteous arse you say? No, i like to think myself as a realistic arse and if someone came knocking on my door offering the same thing, I feel its time my future, family and career takes the cake than for the love of my colleagues and boss.

That is my reason for not bashing or hoping Torres would not do good or curse him to fail at Chelsea. He is after all.. like you and me blush.gif

Fair enough, I wasn't targetting your post in particular incidentally.

I can't help but feel a little peeved when the first topic I come across in the morning on OUR thread isn't about how our team is doing, but about the Mancs have lost or how Torres still hasn't scored. Noticed I said, TOPIC (i.e. a string of posts on the subject) and not just a single post or two. Do we still need to curse him and hope he never has a successful career? I've noticed so many posters go on about being the best fans, and all we do is curse our rivals? Maybe "best" and "class" don't necessarily go hand-in-hand.

Fans do need to be reminded of the past, good or bad. It's why you will come across a post or two on Owen and McManaman. Few remember Souness' interview with the Sun. I see no reason however for us to continue to hurl daggers at them to the extent we come across as bitter. Like I said earlier, when we go "Torres, YNWA", or "Owen, YNWA", did we really mean it? Doesn't matter if the words YNWA mean anything to them, it should matter to us.

I feel the term You'll Never Walk Alone has now achieve more than just a mantra status. We should say it like it's suppose to mean.

Like in the recent Japan earthquake where some fear or other is running in the hearts of some of my japanese friends over there, I'll always skype them and end with a YNWA. They are not Liverpool fans but they have asked what it meant and after telling them its as simple as it means, they appreciate the fact now they know some of us share their grief and fears and they will definitely not be alone in their struggle to overcome the horrors they just faced.

So to all fans and friends alike, when I say YNWA, its meant to be that. So keep it in your hearts that its no longer just something we use in games, but also to be used in any given situation for comfort and assurance.

YNWA!!! thumbup.gif

the 2 0 win over the Black Cats are a way to stamp on the fact we picked ourselves up from the Braga fiasco.

Again Suarez made the difference. Spearing was lively and Agger being his dominant self again pleases me to no end.

Even Steve Bruce had no complaints about their loss to Liverpool but quoted on the fact that video replay tech should be used. I am scratching my head on this, how would the tables have looked if really replays were indeed used for the games since the beginning of the season. Makes you wonder don't it? smile.gif

it's simple really smile.gif

Thank you RAFA for the good times and the awesome nite in Istanbul, Torres, ECL No.5, etc...
But now is not the time to come back, if ever. No offence. Good man, great professional, that is all.

Kenny Daglish has one very, very important gift to the squad, Morale.
Anyone who reads the Chinese history of Romance of the 3 Kingdoms knows that once a great man in Chinese history said -

"A man with high morale fights like 100 men and fears no opponent he meets" - Guan Yu

And even after more than 1700 years later, it still holds true tongue.gif

goes to the runner up mate.

so basically, Stock will get in. Unless a miracle happens, we need that 5th spot because i do not see any team above us declaring bankruptcy or points deduction at the current moment.

although stranger things has happened over the years wink.gif

Added on April 18, 2011, 7:33 pmoh and another thing to add.

we did not gift Man United the 19th title, they were dominant and strong and albeit some games with luck they deserve the title.

it doesn't spell the end of Liverpool just because we have relinquish the most premier league titles won, infact it should be "hell, its about time".

Now it will only seek to motivate the owners, our manager and our players to challenge harder come the seasons after this.

In short, we'll be different and our manager is here to stay for another 10 years, and if anyone can do it, its gonna be Kenny Daglish.

YNWA!

Added on April 18, 2011, 7:37 pmit's also sad to see idiots posting "match fixing" over the other thread just becos their team dropped 2 points.

is it that hard to fathom that their team was scrappy. whatever the illusion of domination that came with their small mentality was in the end their own undoing.

but i can see why most of them are still shell shocked. but then again that is what you would expect for a team that is suppose to get the job done but didn't.

so screw the negativities and learn to play better, and stop blaming other elements becos the players, manager or fans got it wrong. wink.gif

fans making snide and shitty remarks in their own thread is their business IMO.

but i do not like the fact that most of them say they "respect" or "is fair" to another clubs achievement etc, then watching them diss opposition clubs in their threads with wanton abandon over the years is just pathetic. it's hypocritical in every sense.

so basically, why can't some fans just stick to their own thread if they have nothing constructive to say and only see the need to defend everything that is said about their club as a daily hobby.

if everyone were to take offence about things said in their own thread, i swear that "one" particular thread would have trolls all day long 24/7. but since i see none bothering to do that in "their" thread, we only know who are the actual trolls and troublemakers in Lyn.

so to me, Kenny said it with grace when he meant "PISS OFF" in every sense of the word. i will take it that he meant it for every jack-ace, trolls and dimwits even here on Lyn smile.gif

YNWA!

Added on April 20, 2011, 9:15 amOn a footy note, I love Luis Garcia. just for the plain fact he is a tricky mustard, that alone makes it entertaining to have him back at LFC.

Although I rather not lose Aquaman if we can bring him back because I definitely think he can flourish under Kenny.

i think every team needs to have a good reliable back up keeper. Is Hugo a good back up? maybe, but i think Comolli's interest might have been stirred up by the media (as it has been since we started all the transfer activities) since January.

I have a good feeling that Reina will stay but we should not be caught with the fact he is injury proof.
