My friend is a dietitian. Worked in hospital for 4 years and claims that she can't stand the boredom sitting in hospital all day long waiting for patients.
Now she work as sales rep for nutrition product. Traveling around and more enjoyable for her. |

I'm future student of this course.
I'm not sure a nutritionist/dietitian's salary but I hope for average salary range of 3k~4k with few years experience (less than 10yrs). is it possible for nutritionist/dietitian got that amount of salary? what is the fresh graduate salary btw? hope it's not under 2k. since u said that, I will aim for private then. I wish there is someone to chat with actually, not alone in the room doing nothing? I want to meet ppl, willing to travel or drive around, flexible working hr, no working on weekend or OT, not necessary high pay, average pay of 3-4k after few yrs working experience will do. my concern is not stressful > average pay> satisfy with the job. are u in this field? can u share the pros and cons? thanks This post has been edited by elleelf: Mar 21 2011, 01:00 AM |

my concern is not stressful > average pay> satisfy with the job.' if tat's wat u want..diet is definitely not the one for u..nutri nt so right oso.. 3-4k salary? oops..dietitians are very poor.. fresh grad 1800-2200 around tat range..nt so sure after u grad wil be how much.. but some private hospital do pay higher.. government basic 1999+few types of allowance can reach2800.. sales job can drive around meeting ppl..n earn big |

Oh, I never know that the salary is so low for this field.. but a dietitian sounds professional. Btw, I don't want to be sales because I feel like not secure.. plus does it necessary to have nutri background to sell nutrition products? What if I want to join the food company? Actually I want to study nutri because it's food related. I heard that food tech is tiring, need to OT in lab, that's why I choose nutri, which I thought not so stress? Correct me if I'm wrong..

dietitian is definitely very pro..
is definitely helping ppl's job..not an earn so much job.. if u dont mind..and if u ok with working in hospitals..seeing patients.. every job has its certain level of stress..u cant expect no stress at all in any field..it's how u cope with it i tink u should go for nutri compared to diet..as u like to travel.. nutri u stil can go outstation giving talk.. food tech, depends whether you like to work in lab..doing research.. quality control... |

QUOTE(elleelf @ Mar 20 2011, 03:15 AM) is there any nutritionist or dietitian here? I think you should surf http://littlediet.blogspot.com/, email and ask the dietitian ( I think she is a dietitian in a private hospital Malaysia). I follow her blog once a while. She is quite a well knowledgeable dietitian in my opinion.I want to know what is your job like? the pros and cons. Thanks! |

i'm not expecting high salary from this job..because my uncle already worked in this field for almost 6 years and he only earns 3400 max.. but he works in gov hospital.. he said that the salary will be much higher if u become a sales nutritionist like nestle' etc..
i also think that only this job suits me since i always fond of nutrition with the chemical composition of carbs, protein etc.. and for me working with passion and modest salary is always better than doing work that u don't like.. but my opinion is try work and get experience first.. after a few years find a job that is related to nutri/dietetic that will make u earn more money in private company.. |
