Hi guys, i am looking for new credit card to apply.
As this is my first credit card, i wonder if its really beneficial for me if i use it rarely. let say, once per month?

1. Annual Income: RM3k per month = RM36k per annum.

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Preferably yes.

3. Card required for: Most of it for petrol and bill payment, sometimes movies and sometimes grocerries.

4. Existing credit cards if any: Nil.

5. Looking at CC from: Any

6. Others: Currently i only have two debit card which is Maybank and CIMB. mainly used for petrol and grocerries but no discount +_+

For Petrol cashback,i wonder which one of this is the best two combo?

MBB Ikhwan - 5% Friday & Saturday
MBB Petronas - 8% weekend only
MBB FCB - 2% every day
CIMB Cash Rebate - 2% every day

currently i am using Ikhwan and CIMB, is there any other choice to maximize the cashback?

1st, you didnt let us know if you have petrol preference? do you have brand allegiance?  laugh.gif or any petrol would do?

2nd, assume you can get all the cards above?
for me and others, get all 5 mbb cards  laugh.gif i call it Maybank 5 Cards: M2C, Ikhwan MC and Visa Petronas, and FCB VS. all NO ANNUAL FEE. cover all possible petrol needs. easy to maintain and all manageable in M2U. you get at least 2 monthly statements: 1 copy for conventional cards + 1 copy for Ikhwan cards.

any petrol would do, even caltex or BHP also can biggrin.gif biggrin.gif
can get all? salary wise i think yes. approval, depends. i had all three except for MBB FCB.

Change your CIMB cash rebate to CIMB Petronas Mastercard (3% or 7% everyday).

but this only limited to Petronas right?

i've read somewhere that u can use this method:

1. Purchase RM100 Petronas Reloadable Gift Card from Lazada Online. Some credit card can give u cashback 5%. Actual pay is RM95/actual value is RM100.

2. Reload another RM100 for the Petronas Reloadable Gift Card at any Petronas station using Petronas Ikhwan during weekend to get 8% cashback. Actual pay is RM92 / actual value is RM100.

3. Free to use the Petronas Reloadable Gift Card at anytime during weekday or weekend since u already have RM200 inside but actual u pay is only RM187 (around 6.5% cashback).

4. Reload again in every weekend in the future to continue get 8% cashback, but u can use the card anytime during weekday or weekend. (8% cashback)

is this method really works?
anyone can confirm item #2? or actually reload is only by cash?

I have a better option
11 street petronas voucher
Selling with 5% discount
Example
Rm5 = pay only rm 4.75
Use mbb amex during weekend for purchase
You get 5% cb from 4.75 + x5 point
You could even save more then using petronas ikhwan
The voucher can use on anyday ,but not every station
Valid for 30day after purchase
*
Not convenient. Voucher have validity date which defeat the whole purpose. Instead of savings, u might lose everything if u exceed the validity date. Imagine u want to safe 5% but end up lose 100%.
