Do you actually have the card or just posting?Do you actually get 10% from your fuel transaction itself? I really blur on the "based on the 20% total monthly retail spend" condition.

"based on the 20% total monthly retail spend" condition, means
If you spend RM600 in petrol for May 2012, only RM120 is used to calculate the cash-back rebate. 10% cashback of RM120 = RM12, not RM60 as you expect. BEWARE !!!! This post has been edited by ronnie: May 4 2012, 01:02 PM |

Currently which CC is most higher cash rebate for petrol? I plan to get a CC soon, currently annual income is around SGD24-27k. Any good suggestion? |

QUOTE(ZiNKaK @ May 5 2012, 12:24 PM) Wrong, Maybank 2 Card stills gives higher simply due to the 5% set cashback. RHB one is just advertising fluff, do notice that is it based on 20% of the total spending so if you pump RM100 every weekend you are not getting RM40, but rather RM400X20%X5-10% means the maximum you can get is RM8. M2card gives a solid 5% which means 400X5% gets you RM20 cashback for petrol alone. The reason Amex is stronger in giving cashback compared to others is due to their higher tax charges on merchant, around 5-6% while Visa and Master (used by the other banks) are just 2-3% so unless the Cards team have an advertising budget to cover for paying the transaction earning they lose to cashback, they won't beat Amex. |

Yah, very good if you pump less than RM600 a month (max cash back cap for Petrol with Citibank Plat CB). Only better option is Maybankard 2 AMEX where you earn 5% cash back PLUS 5X Treats Points BUT you need to pump on Saturday and Sunday AND that is if you don't use up the cash back cap for other transactions. |

The total cashback for the RHB card if petrol pumped on weekend taken into consideration is RM100 would be RM400x20%-10%=RM8 for the first weekend plus 3 more weekends of 5%=RM15 totaled up to RM23 cashback for one month compare to M2CC RM20. While your reasoning M2CC offers more benefit which I quite agree as RHB lost hands down on the 5X TP, RHB ones gives quite a pretty solid cashback. Bare in mind that the 10% fluctuates according to your spending. |

QUOTE(ronnie @ May 6 2012, 12:16 PM) 4 weekends with Total spend : RM400 Well... I did say RHB lost it totally on the TP earned via M2Amex, but don't you agree if just cashback alone it's pretty strong with RM23 cashback (you got it wrong if RM20 btw). Ahh.. OK, you both win. LOL coz I always take TP into consideration too when my spending with cards Total used for rebate calculation : RM400 x 20% = RM80 10% First weekend : RM80 x 10% = RM8 5% 2nd weekend : RM80 x 5% = RM4 5% 3rd weekend : RM80 x 5% = RM4 5% 4th weekend : RM80 x 5% = RM4 RHB's Total Cashback = RM20 If you use Maybankard 2 AMEX, you get RM20 (5% of RM400) + 2000 TP (~RM10), Maybankard 2 AMEX Total Cashback = RM30 |

Tq MBB 2 Amex giving 5% discount on ALL transaction on weekend, with maximum cap or RM50/month.Treats Points is RM1 for 5x points equivalent to 2.5% rebate.. Compared to normal 1x point that is only 0.5% rebate. |

Tq The thing is, most Petronas stations DO NOT accept Amex, and those that does, you need to go to the counter. I have no problems using AMEX at ESSO and Shell. Go to Maybankard 2 Cards Thread to read more. |
