Contrary to what most of the people say,MMU actually do check your academic qualification before giving you your preferred course.Nowdays it's bit hard to get Foundation in Engineering or any courses from FET because stricter rules.
You can always appeal for your preferred course.

possible, need beg fosee admin a little la, like what i did when i changed course. but reminds u alot of work need to be done to change course, so better start after your final exam because whole procedure take 2weeks at least, but in my case done in a day because kakak inside admin helped me to approve it on spot

and this as well, ptptn will double the stuff you need to do to change course
