The best is shoot raw so you can change the white balance, picture control and other things later in your com. I use ViewNX 2 to do so. Just that raw files need big space sweat.gif
*

When shooting RAW ... i notice once i imported into LR ...the color is not the same as i shoot it. Does LR do a basic editting first? I already set the white balance 'as-shot'.
Most of the times, my shot seems brighter/over-exposed once imported. I had to go and 'double click' each value to make it back to default. And clicking the auto tone just makes it under-exposed/darker ...

correcting the color and white balance again is very tricky ... sad.gif
*i shoot products too. and corecting the the colors/whitebalance is important to me. i want them to look natural and the color matches the real item as much as possible. blush.gif

Let's say if you shoot Vivid default mode, you can actually configure LR to apply Vivid processing to your image. It will look 99% similar to your LCD smile.gif. But if you start tweaking saturation etc then it will look different...

Lightroom have preset settings for RAW files, so it will adjust the brightness, contrast, etc when you import the RAW files and loaded the presets.

There is also Lens correction which you can apply.
*
so how do i get back the image which i saw on screen when i shoot it? tongue.gif
how to disable the auto adjust feature in LR? ... sometimes the pic on the camera just needs a little tweaking.

sorry, just started trying to shoot RAW .. hehe. used to shoot jpg all these while.

I bought Yongnua triggers already last time. Pretty reliable smile.gif

It triggers my SB900 but not my Di622, so thinking of selling the Di622 and get 2 Yongnua flashes hmm.gif
*

here's one trick that allows u to use nissin di622 mark 1 with yongnuo rf602. my fren tried it and it works for him.
i'm using mark II, so it works right out of the box with yn rf602 wireless triggers.
refer to here :

"Enrico Bissaro says:
SOLUTION FOR missing fire with NISSIN DI622 and RF-602
In your receiver you have to cover all contacts excluding the one on the middle used to transmit fire signal. Everything will work!!!"

QUOTE(FaezFarhan @ Apr 5 2011, 01:36 PM)
Kinda, Mark 2 can CLS, while Mark 1 you have to control the output power on the flash itself. And you can't use wireless triggers on Mark 1, only Mark 2 smile.gif

Just get both lor, since both is second hand. Both different usage, having 50mm doesn't mean you don't need a flash. Flash is a must to me for indoors. 50mm 1.8 & Di622 is enough for beginners smile.gif

Just basic gears lor. D90, 17-50, 35 1.8, 80-200 two touch, SB900. That's it. What about you? brows.gif

No I am using D3100 not D90. maybe upgrade later well not sure yet.
I will sell it if I can master it. for the time being I haven't master my 18-70 sad.gif
it's a difficult lens to master. well at least for me hahaha...
good luck bro.. yeah I know you still using d3k with 18-55. smile.gif
Now I am missing my 18-55, haha...

QUOTE(FaezFarhan @ Apr 5 2011, 02:19 PM)
I see. Don't worry soon you'll get used to it. It's a very sharp lens. I will buy it if I can find a really cheap price. Wanna replace my tamron with an UWA lens biggrin.gif
Very true. But gears do play their part, better lens = easier to get nicer pics smile.gif

Differences? Range, 35 f1.8 is made for DX, 35 have built-in-motor, 35 f1.8 is sharper wide open(well for me) smile.gif
*
i rarely use my 18-55mm now since i got nikkor 16-85mm tongue.gif
and yeah, love my 35mm f1.8 too ... cheapest prime lens with best bang for buck especially for AF motor-less DX user ... hah! (applicable to poor guys like me only)

QUOTE(FaezFarhan @ Apr 5 2011, 02:11 PM)
Get the 35mm f1.8 bro, really good lens smile.gif
Wow really? Thanks a lot bro! Will try it later when I get home. Hopefully it'll work, can save a lot of money there sweat.gif
*
try it once u get back home! the wireless trigger was causing mis-firings before he did the trick. once he covered it the contacts, it works wonders for him. (he was considering to change flash too but cancelled!).
