Went to lowyat yesterday to scout around physical look of the ipad 2 in real life. Asked around nobody says they have one, not yet anyway ...
Suddenly i went to this quiet corner shop.. THEY HAVE IT !!!

He has 5x Wifi Units and 2x 3G Unit (One sold for RM6,000 another he use for himself)
Wifi Units going for RM4500.

why so expensive?

make a killing before the actual launch of the product for those who have money to burn and dont mind paying the premium to "show off" their ipad 2..

I rather use the money to buy a MacBook pro to show off. Nobody would notice you using iPad 2 or not... Or better, use the money to bring hot chicks to

For 6k, just get a girl to hump along while you wait for the official version from SG. Perhaps you would have forgotten about Ipad altogether by the time it finally gets here.

It just depends on individual, some people may think it's worth it rather than waiting for it to come to our shore compares to getting a gal to hump along. As you said, maybe by the time it reach here, they already getting bored of their devices since they have already own it earlier and we are only started to wee..wee...wow...wow. For rich people, RM6K is nothing to them as long they have the latest gadget to show around and make head turns. So it's not surprised when you saw that the grey market are putting the price so high but they still have buyers are willing to pay those ridiculous amount to own an iPad at RM6K!!

OK..ipad 2 will be released internationally on March 25th (maybe a slight delay) and the nearest countries where it will be released and where Air Asia flies to are Australia & Japan. But of course you don't want to go to Japan currently and I'm sure the release there will most definitely be delayed so your only alternative will be Australia. Go to www.airasia.com and get the cheapest ticket to either Perth or Gold Coast, locate the nearest Apple store and wait in line. So after discounting the air ticket, food & lodging....maybe just maybe the ipad 2 will be cheaper than whatever price they are asking for now here.

Or you could wait for the official Malaysia launch.

Yes they do. Most of these units come with the international warranty. I gotten my iPad 1 from US when I was there on a business trip and so far sent it in for check with no issues here.

I beg to differ. If I am not mistaken Apple will only warranty your device as long the specific device model is officially selling in our country, otherwise you need to send it to the nearest country which they already officially selling that specific model.

Yesterday at 1st floor (above the UG floor) got one shop hang a banner say ipad2 available... No need hidden shop... Terang-terang sell.

Must be premium price version

sometimes u can get return airfares to perth for less than 1k with AAX, with the money left you can buy 2-3 ipad.

I will stick to my first gen iPad until the third gen comes out. After all, this one still works good and I've only had it since June last year. And there really isn't any reason for me to upgrade given that games I want to play (mosly Burung Ganas) and apps I need to use to do work still runs well. To me the A5 and double RAM is not really worth fighting for. I also want to see if the rumor that iPad3 will have Retina Display is true or not first.

I also just got my ipad 1 recently when the price dropped. I find the old iPad is not a slacking product. The speed is still really fast for basic use. Wont be changing till there is a retina display on the iPad.
That time it is definitely time to change . Lol

Dont worry la... Apple already announced that it will be on sale in Singapore, HK etc in April...
No mention of Malaysia though but for less than RM200, you already on your way to SG via AA or luxury coach...
