Hi there, i had a problem finding an honest plumber too.Here's my story:
In Aug 2007 just after our renovation, the bathroom started flooding after baths and cooking. Friends told me the contractor must have put sand in.  We got all sorts of plumbers, an Indian con man on the bicycle etc but the clog lasted till Feb 2009 with headaches and frustrations of not being able to bathe or do washings in the kitchen sink .  Left with no choice, we got a big size plumber from the "Star" ads who pumped with all his might for15 mins under our kitchen sink to clear the clog and charged us RM300.  But a year later the same flooding recurred.  So we got an Indonesian contractor who said he would need to hack 4 feet deep into the manhole to see what's blocking there for RM750.  That was too much "renovation" .  Then we found this honest plumber, Ah Lek from Ampang(we live in puchong), through a friend.  He came the 1st day, looked at the bathroom, the manhole then tried to pump under the kitchen sink but to no avail. Then he deduced from our house design that the bathroom and kitchen shared the same pipe exit which meant there should be a trap between the manhole and kitchen sink so he returned the next day to locate the trap by hacking under a few tiles.  True enough he found the trap in which there were 2 kilos of sand apparently thrown in by the contractor we hired to do our renovation(the fellow threw the sand in and then cemented up the trap hole when he was doing the tiling, which is just crazy).  Ah Lek removed the sand  and did a cover so that in the future we just need to open the trap cover and clean it ourselves should a clog occur.  He took half a day to do all that and only charged me RM300/- (but I tipped him another RM50 for all that laboring, patiently hacking to find the trap unlike the Star chap who wanted to make a quick buck). He not only solved our problem then but our future as well. We're so grateful for him, even until now, that's why I fully recommend him. His contact number:016-3781588

Yes i just called like 30 mins ago.. he still using the same number.. my pump spoil and keep pumping for no reason eventhough no one using water in the toilet and because of that its pumping water from the tangki above the house now leaking all over my 2nd floor zzz.. he is very nice person.. willing to come from Ampang..

I know right, it's been an experience to me as well! Previously I was always asking a plumber who had always repair my parents house, but I can definitely said that their work is too lousy lol! For example, I can see the plumber guy more than 8 -10 times in 6 month. Furthermore, i still remember my parent house pipe was leaking and we ask for emergency repair, they always delay us and said will do when they free.  Therefore, when I was facing some of the piping issues at my own apartment, I Wouldn't call the guy again! However, since I'm living by myself in KL area, I did do some research for the plumbing services online. Last week, I just call to the company that I search online which is call LocalService I believe, then they arrange a plumber to fix my clogged pipe and installation by 6pm on that day! I would say that was fast and their schedule arrangement is reasonable!  Compare with my previous plumber that my parent used to know The company LocalService arrange a Chinese and a Malay plumber to fix my issues! I personally think their service is quite good, so you ask for recommendation, I will say you can try to call them for enquiries. When I have a chat with them at that day, they even told me that their company provide other services as well, like air-cond, handyman, electrician or locksmith I think. It's just too much talking at that day, I maybe forgot Just feel like these LocalService is much more better than the guy who have fix my parent house plumbing issues for at leat 7-8 years, but still very difficult to need them in urgent and the charges is not reasonable too, somehow my dad still willing to pay for that   , as saying, older generation prefer their old-school way! Haha! They just used to deal with that guy, then they will never change! Try to call them or maybe you can just like me, check their website I think, if you guys need it, can have a browse see whether any service you need. I think their charges us reasonable and it might suitable for what you need, like cheaper price! Hey there, anybody knows any good and honest plumbers around Klang Valley?

I just moved in to a 2nd hand apartment, and found that the piping in one of the toilets are not very good. Pressure is low and the valve under the sink doesn't seem to do anything...and it's also leaking when you turn it. 

Problem is I've spent quite a bit in the apt, now budget very limited. 
Any idea where to find a helpful, honest plumber?

Called both Ah Lek and Mr Wong, both did not solve my problem. I called Ah Lek his attitude is kinda crap, talking to him on the phone feels as if I owed him something, he did not come to my place because he said it's too far. For Mr Wong the contact number actually belongs to Ms Lee, they provided a backup plumber that not only feels like scam, but also did not solve my problem at all. In the end I found a trustworthy plumber at Kaodim called C and C One Construction. This is his contact number: Mr Chee +6017-365 5060. Unfortunately Kaodim is closing their platform soon, quite sad to see it go.

there's water leaking from the wall inside one of the room, behind the wall is toilet. so i called a plumber to come and see. he says the piping inside the toilet wall needs to be replaced, he'll do the hacking, fixing and replace the mosaic tiles. he quotes me RM3000 for that which i don't think it's reasonable..

i see there are mixed feedback regarding Ah Lek. Mind to share any other honest plumber's contact pls?
