I have an old Samsung hi8 video camera that i bought about 8 years ago. it still working nicely. I wanted to transfer video i recorded on hi8 tapes to PC so that i could edit and burn them to DVD. I have kworld analog PCI TV card on my PC.

I tried to transfer the video to PC using s-video cable. although the video's visual transfered greatly but alas there is no sound recorded. it's a mute video. How do I transfer the video's visual along with its sound to my PC? Been trying for days even using that composite cable with the RCA connector but to no avail.

is there any hardware that can transfer hi8 video to PC with sound? help hah....

Isnt S-video is for video only? you have your audio outlet from the player for sound? Not sure though, just check again.

i have connect the s-video cable to my kworld tv card and that composite cable with the RCA to the onboard sound...(i have no idea how to transfer the sound so i connect the RCA L-R to the onboard sound hoping it'll work..i connected them to every available connector thingies on the back of the PC..)

or do I need a separate sound card?

These are audio-out from your cam to your input audio to the sound card? There's sound from the cam on its own?
Try out the wires/cable settings to your tv and check if both working. Your cam audio head maybe dirty and not giving out sound.
FYI, I'm just guessing may not be worth your while for all the hassles> sad.gif wub.gif
