Hi, thinking to upgrade from DVD to blu-ray, am thinking about getting one soon, saw this Sharp player under promotion now, less than RM500, in the hand, the built quality seems like better than other entry level BD players in the market... is is a good player, in terms of picture quality and performance?

Thanks!

why not consider Pana BD45 or Samsung C5500..both can get RM400 each..

Pana BD45 not Profile 2.0 so does not support BD-live and can use only HDD formated with FAT32. In these respect, the Samsung BD-C5500 is better but not sure how the PQ and AQ compare with the Pana BD45 but should be similar.

when hold it in hands, the built quality feels better than Pana/Samsung entry models, though not sure about the PQ. But after did some surfing, found that Sharp BD players sometimes don't play certain BD..... especially those dated version BD when upgraded the BD firmware.... any idea how true is this?

thanks for the feedback!

Is it true that some internet forum comment regarding the playablility of a BD player varies from brand to brand.... eg.. Pana BD players are fussy, only take in ori verison, whereas Philips, LG etc can play almost all BD, ori or pirated... ??
