vista home basic - rm305 vista home premium - rm395 vista business - rm495 vista ultimate - rm680 all are oem price Added on February 2, 2007, 7:07 pmQUOTE(VCBlogger @ Feb 2 2007, 07:02 PM) Hi guys, this came up from anandtech just now : http://www.anandtech.com/systems/showdoc.aspx?i=2917salient points below Windows Vista Ram Requirements "We then upgraded the Vista machine to 3GB and ran the test again; thanks to faster application load times and intelligent prefetching, Word started in 1.31 seconds. If you thought that 2GB was the sweet spot for Windows XP, chances are 3GB will be the new minimum for you under Vista." Ready Boost Analysis "ReadyBoost makes a very significant impact on performance here. With 4GB of flash dedicated to ReadyBoost, we saw an increase in performance of over 47%. However for the cost of a 4GB flash drive you could probably upgrade to 1GB of memory which results in an even larger performance gain. That said, if you don't want to open up your system, ReadyBoost does actually work." i use 2gb also slow . no wonder vista required more . 4gb will be execellent to start vista . really suck a** This post has been edited by garanzia: Feb 2 2007, 07:07 PM

only windows vista business life cycle is until 2017 (April 11, 2017) other version only supported until 2012 including so call "ultimate" (April 10, 2012) QUOTE(mzaidi @ Feb 27 2007, 05:56 PM) Not to mention that you get legal CD-Key. Yup, full version. I'm not sure whether it's retail or OEM version. They're not giving Vistas in Retail boxes for sure. To get the Vista, we must bring your Student ID and a piece of blank DVD. Each student will be given unique cd-key. According to the MS rep, the cd-key is valid till 2012. The process to get the Vista is tedious. You have to queue up at any booth, complete a task (answer some questions, watch their demo, etc), and they'll give you 1 stamp. There are 7 booths, but you only need to collect 5 stamps, and then you can claim your copy of Vista. I queued for 3 1/2 hours before I got mine.
