The last time Vista let 512 RAM run aero was in RC1
After that, you need to hack the registery to make it work.

Get your facts right la dude. I just installed OEM Vista Home Premium on my 512mb lappie. Aero's there right after installation. Registry hack my a$$.

Some sites (liek AeroXP.org) still states that you need to have 1GB of ram to have Aero, and i tested it by unpluggin 1 X 512MB stick and Aero did not turn on, even after running benchmarking again after that. Sometimes laptop tend not to follow this rule as they have shared memory with the GPU.
And besides, I beta tested all version of Vista since Beta I, so i know what i'm talking about
on the other hand, is your Aero just 'Aero' or 'Aero translucent with kick ass graphic rendering'?

Come on dude, a man admits their mistake and not giving ridiculous reasons to defend themselves. If you are wrong, just admit it, why argue?

Yes. Aero will not turn on automatically when you install using 512MB x 1. But Aero is there (yes smarty pants, it's the Aero translucent, as though there are a lot of types of aero) for you to select, and requires no whatever a$$ registry hack like you said earlier. And what does turning on Aero has to do with benchmarking?

You crack me up by said 'Sometimes laptop tend not to follow this rule as they have shared memory with the GPU.' Lawl, yes, some laptop do share memory with the GPU - that simply means the GPU will share the laptop's memory and thus making the laptop memory less! Why on earth would Aero be there when the memory is shared with GPU and resulting in less than 512MB? whistling.gif Shouldn't it be the other way around champ? Or are you trying to say that GPU has additional memory to share with system memory and thus making it more than 512MB? Which GPU does that? whistling.gif

I've tested it since Beta 1 like you did, from laptop to desktop - integrated to standalone GPU - single core to dual core - 512MB to 4GB systems. Being active in this thread doesn't mean you know everything man. Next time, keep your facts right and THINK before replying and not just blurting things out.

You don't just think, you reasearch it as well.

LMFAO! You still try to defend for yourself by copy and paste the minimum system requirement for vista? laugh.gif

Does it makes any sense? Does it make your previous crappy and wrong statement correct? It doesn't mean anything dude. whistling.gif
