try this site to get RC1 cd key!
requirement:
you must know how to read chinese^_^

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsvista/PCTr...%2Fpreview.mspx

tested by me! it works!
you have to use your hotmail with ms passport to apply for product key for rc1
each mail address can only apply 1 rc1 product key, each product key can be activated 10 times!

here is the screenshot

arg!! after i have activated my rc1, i got the welcome screeen
i have used the help support to search the way to disable it, but the result from the search is that vista welcome screen cannot be disabled
i think there must be a way to disable, as first few times i boot my vista without the welcome screen

how to disable it ??

thanks in advance
*
which welcome screen? if it is the one where it requires you to logon, i don't think you can disable that like xp.

if it is the one where it shows up AFTER you login (with your computer information etc) look down and you will see a chcek box.

For those who can't read chinese but wants to get the product key and give vista rc1 a spin, be the first 10 person to place a request on this thread (please don't PM me) and the product key will be PM to you.

If you feel that you don't need this, please get the product key yourself from gstoh's link. Credits for the link goes to gstoh.

Yes, a couple of Antivirus are not compatible to Win Vista as well.

It is likely that those software will come out with new version to be able to work in the new OS.

DAEMON Tools 4.0.3 X64 is said to be working with Windows Vista 64bit, although I have never tried it.

So far these would not work

Symantec (any product) from 2003 - 2006
ACDsee newer that version 5
Alcohol 120%
Daemon
Nero 7 (you can install, but the installation will not be finished. you need to manually make the shorcut yourself).
Samurize

Adaptec AspI driver installer got working again after it won't work in Beta II

Daemon tools is one of the only virtual drive software for vista. They claimed that the newest version(4.0.3) is working with vista. BUT... it no longer works since a few builds before. I have personally tried, it do not work with vista RC1.
