QUOTE(hardyboyz888 @ Mar 18 2007, 06:16 PM) Anyone with a similar specs as my PC can tell how is the Vista experience ? How much hard disk space does Vista takes for you all ? After fresh installation, the Windows Folder takes about 7GB. Now it's 8.12GB (probably because of Windows Update / System Restore / Shadow Copy).

QUOTE(linkinstreet @ Mar 18 2007, 10:50 PM) Ironic that XP took 5 years to produce 2 service pack and ppl now wanting Vista service pack barely 6 month after it release SP1 for XP is only released 11 months after XP's launch. If Vista's SP 1 is released on December, it will have been 11 months since the OS itself released (30th January 2007) - the same length of time it took for Windows XP to get its first service pack.

I don't know for sure, but most probably it's gonna be like Windows XP, either download through Windows Update or order an update disc from Microsoft.

QUOTE(williamwong @ Mar 18 2007, 10:55 AM) for me its also alot smoother, just that startup takes alot longer, around 7mins to be ready. after that smooth sailing all the way.dreamscene takes up quite alot cpu usage and ram usage is normally high ( >60%) even without doing anything. my specs is 1.66 dual core, 1gb ram, and some lousy graphic card (the reason for slowing down).on ultimate. Wow, u have so much thing running?? My start up only took bout 3 min max. Why u one so slow? Spec same like urs.. Just that mine is Home Premium

Just that mine is Home Premium ur ram normally takes up how much when idle? when i was in home premium it was alot faster, but on ultimate alot slower, dont know why also. going into windows its fast, but when loading the startup programs takes quite some time,i think i'l try and configure it later. mayb its coz of dreamscene. and on ultimate i face certain "flickers" from time to time, wierdly enough which i dont face in home premium. any ideas?

When idle normally ram took about 44-47%. For Dreamscene expecting something like 55-60% of idle ram..

Dreamscene is overrated. You can actually do something similar with animated GIF as wallpaper many years ago already. But of course, you can't stream full movies then (PC not powerful enuff back then anyway). Nothing to shout about really. After watching the same looping movie for 10 minutes, i think you'll want to turn it off, unless of course, if it's porn.... This post has been edited by Matrix: Mar 19 2007, 04:22 PM

uhm, from what i have found. with or without dreamscene doesnt affect ram. dreamscene affects cpu usage. with dreamscene on, my cpu usage >20% / ram >60% without dreamscene on, cpu usage 0% / ram remains the same. both situiations are idle. oddly enough my ram usage is so high, anyone knows how to check?
and uhm, actually dreamscene is quite useless, its just WHOA for like 5mins when u first got it then after that normal lar. the main thing i change to ultimate is Hold'em Poker game =)
