btw yeah i've used the restore from 2.1 nandroid backup (not so stock anymore) to flash another 2.2... most of the times its ok.but not advisable.

among errors i've encountered (with/without wipe data after restore 2.1 before flashing)

- IMEI 'lost' = no network access
- infinite loop @bootscreen of newly flashed rom
i'd like to say again..it works but not advisable

swiftkey, better keyboard...
my swype works fine...until recently it stop swyping.

then i update it, swyping is good to go.

if you really like swype (which i really do)

i'd suggest you register & download the swype installer, to get latest ver & updates.

i just kinda get the feeling that once a newer version is up, the current version on phone stops swyping...maybe..

(You need your Rom's Framework-res.apk for making a zip file of your custom theme, to know how to get it please check Post 2 below, alternatively you can try finding your framework in the kitchen itself as we do provide frameworks of some popular roms/themes and you dont need to upload anything)
Also check post 2 to know what to do once you get the zip file from the kitchen (eg UOT- 14-46-58. Zip)

There are 4 main ways to get it:

1.From the zip file of your ROM
Download the ROM you are using.
Decompress/unzip it using 7zip/winzip .
Open System/Framework/ in the unziped folder
Take the framework-res.apk in system/framework/ folder.
Place it anywhere you want (on the desktop for example).

2.From your phone
Download a file manager (Astro or ES File Explorer or other...) in the Market.
Go to /system/framework/ folder in your phone.
Copy the framework-res.apk in your SDCard.
Place it anywhere you want (on the desktop for example).

3. Use file from the kitchen
You can select file of your ROM/Theme from drop-down list in file upload section.
We have corrected files for most popular roms/themes.

4. Alternatively you can also use ThemePro to extract it from your Rom.

Before starting editing your framework-res.apk you should make an other copy of it if you want to restore your original framework.
Copy it and rename it as framework-res_ORIGINAL.apk for example.
What to do of the UOT-......... ZIP File that you made from the kitchen

Reboot into recovery.
choose "install zip from sdcard"
choose "choose zip from sdcard"
locate your file UOT-... .zip in SD
confirm "YES - install UOT ... .zip"
wait for script to finish
reboot phone

managed to flashed phantom king 2 but touch screen not responding.cant pass android setup.Anyone know y?

Im using phantom king skyfish rev1...can i know if anyone using this rom got installed any gps apps...can recommend?
btw how to determine the sd card class? my card 4gb came with the phone package...how would i know what class..?

didnt anyone face this.

open bluetooth, then sometime force close.
open browser, then sometime force close.
cannot activate gps, but, after reboot can activate... after that, will sometime occur the same problem.

Not necessary to flash back to stock rom 2.1,just use clockwork rom manager and install which CM7 bla..bla..you want to and wipe all data.In case if you use nb0 file,you need to use SUT to flash.

Correct me if i was wrong

p/s : by the way,can anyone tell me how to get screen-shot of our phone?forgot already la...

Just bought myself a mi300 yesterday, my first smart phoen . Now trying to root the 2.1. Just dload z4root a while ago, now I need a android SDK right (to install the z4 apk file)?

for aura gps, map on 39mb, the other are application file..try check at summary then u noe

i think becoz data is put on sd, but apk is installed in phone memory..

zyulander: I am going for PhantomKing, heard alot of good feedback about it.

salimbest83: I root so I can install romManager, need to backup incase shit happens and at least I can put back the official rom and sent for warranty.

But RomManager is not working today, after install when i try to backup it keep telling me my "cannot find server", my wifi is working fine.

I have a question guys, what does the stock manager backs up and what it doesn't?

Doest it back up user data? (photos,contacts on phone, games score etc)?

forgive me if i'm wrong, just to clarify here. i thought benny888 say rom manager can backup our csl stock rom (assuming the phone is never flash before) plus the csl boot screen?

and when we restore back we will get the csl boot screen back too?
