You can do a backup by using root explorer and copy paste the music.apk from /system/app. smile.gif

but how to uninstall and re install it ?
*
As simple as deleting that .apk from there. Putting it back is as simple as, well, putting it there. tongue.gif

Although you need set the permissions. For the correct settings just check the other untouched apks as reference (tap and hold one and select permissions)

Added on March 16, 2011, 11:21 pmOh forgot to mention, make sure you reboot everytime you delete or add back.

Those who flashed .15 and then patched to .16 before, what's the procedure of "Upgrading a ROM"? Same steps as flashing rom but just "Install SD Card from zip" on top of .15? Or use other options? rclxub.gif
*
For that performance patch, just flash it over the standard .15. But you have to boot .15 at least once first. smile.gif

Ah I see. Okay then. And I guess we shouldn't do any full wipe / wipe cache right? Since it's just a patch.

Thanks Calex laugh.gif
*
Yep, just flash it over like how you flash themes or kernels. smile.gif

For 720p recording you can try either LeeDroid or RevoHD. Take a look at the FP for detailed guides on how to do so from stock. smile.gif

Hi guys, was thinking of getting a DHD, but then Nexus S comes out on Fri..

Was wondering how DHD can be compared with Nexus S in terms of app compatibility, GPS etc.

Can anyone advise which would be a better device to get?
*
I'll give a summary.

Screen : DHD [4.3 TFT] vs Nexus S [4.0 SuperAMOLED]
Camera: DHD [8MP] vs Nexus S [5MP no flash]
RAM : DHD [768MB] vs Nexus S [512MB]
Internal memory : DHD [1GB] vs Nexus S [16GB]
External memory : DHD [comes with 8GB card] vs Nexus S [no SDcard slot]

Those are the hardware differences, the processor's power is more or less the same.

Software wise, the Nexus S has the stock 2.3 interface, while DHD comes with 2.2 Sense, which can be modded to quite alot of ROMs like 2.3 Sense, MIUI, CM7 (essentially 2.3 like the Nexus S). The Nexus can too but that won't get the Sense interface. Simply put, software wise its whether you find the Sense interface attractive or not.

App compatibility is more or less the same, GPS I can't say.

Since you got most of it listed already, its up to choosing what criteria is more important to you smile.gif

@aeronchan

That 2sec boot is the fastboot feature, check youtube for the vids.

@monza found the culprit! there's a .nomedia file in /sdcard
with that file meaning any folders under that directory (in my case any folder in sdcard ) medias scanning will be skipped !
*
You must have used some music app that has created that file. Did you use PowerAMP before? Or PlayerPro? Or another player?

is it a must to fully charged for flashing ROM ?

Not really, but at least 30% battery is needed before you flash. smile.gif
