I did full wipe no matter which ROM I flash, to prevent unnecessary troubles

Try "Clear Defaults" on HTC Sense

My bad, haha.

Menu > Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > All > HTC Sense (the icon is a clock) > Clear Defaults..

Hmm, weird. You have the launcher installed right? When you press Home button, no menu shows up for you to select which action to run?

Have you tried configuring the APN stated in first post?

Basically, main differences are Screen Type, Screen Size, Body Design, Battery Capacity, front-facing camera. Everything else is the same

Incredible S:
- S-LCD with 4.0" display
- Higher mAh battery capacity
- comes with 1.3 MP Front-facing camera

Desire HD:
- LCD with 4.3" display
- lower mAh battery capacity
- no front facing camera

However, Desire HD's development is in matured stage whereby Incredible S is in the beginning stage (Developers starting to crack Root), but sooner or later, Incredible S's development will be matured as well

So in the end, it depends on which design you like more, which is more "worth" for you, etc.

Uninstall those launcher, just in case..
And yes, just flash thru recovery can already, don't flash wrong/incompatible version ya..

Supposely can backup settings gua.. in ADW Launcher got such option, LauncherPro I haven't use yet, donno
