QUOTE(soitsuagain @ Mar 17 2011, 09:42 AM) Yeah la faster processor same crap battery. I remember those days my dad would always say mobile phone has no battery and has to cut the call short and than how it became ridiculous to say the same thing when the battery improves from NiMH to Li-poly. Now we are back to that stage or simply just carry two phones. err..why u so outdated? Just carry a portable power bank lar.... |

QUOTE(soonlee33 @ Mar 21 2011, 09:53 AM) But is this the USABLE amount? Does it partition again into smaller partition???The HTC Desire only have 120MB available to user despite the internal storage is 512MB. The rest hogged by Android OS.... QUOTE(VinluV @ Mar 21 2011, 11:20 AM) The problem isn't external SD card..even if i put 32GB also no point coz a lot of apps is dependant on the internal storage. I already have an 8GB card in my Desire. A lot of apps are still stuck in internal storage and also the data it stores, which can accumulate to quiet a lot i think for apss like news and mails.Which is why i want to ask whether the Incredible S has the same issue. There's only a miserable 120MB for apps/data in the HTC Desire. |

QUOTE(lch78 @ Mar 21 2011, 12:58 PM) Thanks...it is much better! Haiz...but i still prefer HTC Sense over Touchwiz. Looks like Samsung is more reasonable in this...how about the Galaxy SL? Same as Galaxy S?? Worst come to worst, i might switch over to Samsung. This post has been edited by Matrix: Mar 21 2011, 02:08 PM |

QUOTE(anechoic @ Mar 21 2011, 03:09 PM) RAM not so important. HTC Desire only got 576mb or so...smooth as butter. And SGS also very smooth, no problem.Added on March 21, 2011, 3:59 pm QUOTE(xDjWanNabex @ Mar 21 2011, 03:35 PM) Not ALL apps can be saved to SD card. Only those that support...and lots of data are cached to local internal storage. This post has been edited by Matrix: Mar 21 2011, 03:59 PM |

QUOTE(CELCOM.AXIATA @ Mar 22 2011, 08:22 AM) This analysis is all wrong.1) The HTC Internal storage sucks...probably left 400MB to 500MB for internal user data. It is an Android pitfall...The Nexus S probably have over 1GB for internal app/storage like the Galaxy S...external card dun mean shit if your internal app space is full. Iphone probably have no such issues. 2) 8MP vs 5MP...no difference. Only an idiot will buy the MP story in this age. Small crapp image sensor with high Megapixel does nothing but creates more noise. HTC is known for crappy cameras. Samsung generally have superior phone cameras. 3) Hummingbird with 540 pawns the Qualcomm with Adreno 205. The only real advantage i can think of is the 720p video recording, but if it's crappy like the HTC Desire 720p recording, then it's useless. The only real advantage ever with HTC phones is the Sense UI....they simply cannot compete on specs with other phones. |

QUOTE(Json188 @ Mar 22 2011, 10:22 AM) 1) Never had one Android before so don't really know the story. 1) When u use one, then u'll know...it's one of the Android's worst problem...you simply can't install anything once internal storage is full with apps and data cache.2) Agree, smartphone/handphone camera always sucks, it may be acceptable but don't take it and use as your main camera. 3) Agree as well, if you read articles and reviews about it, definitely don't need explanation. 4) It is rated in 21fps, so regardless of the resolution, the video recording is still crappy, any video recording that is rated under 29.97fps which is the DVD rating, it sucks. 5) Nothing much need to say about it, that's the reason I wanted so long to have a HTC android phone. 2) yes, but HTC is super suck. I've used Samsung Omnia 2, SAmsung Wave 2 and HTC Desire. Samsung photos simply pawns all HTC including DHD. HTC camera tends to give bad color reproduction...red turns to purple...just plain bad. 3) Actually, 24fps video is pretty ok. Not sure about the IS, but my desire is hopeless in 720p....it lags in recording....useless. Compared to the butter smooth 30fps Wave 2....no fight at all. But if you talk about overall usage experience, HTC Sense is still the best. And between SGS and Nexus S, i'll take SGS anyday....what's the hoohaa with plain vanilla Android 2.3?? It won't solve the problem (1) either coz it's all too legacy in the apps. This post has been edited by Matrix: Mar 22 2011, 10:53 AM |

QUOTE(DJFoo000 @ Mar 22 2011, 10:53 AM) hrmm i dunno about other phones, but my Desire Z retains its 1.1GB internal storage pretty well, which translates to 1.1GB of user data for me. The same will probably apply to the Incredible S as well. Users correct me please. If you have 1GB is quiet ok, HTC Desire has only 120MB....some people reported DHD only has 400MB to 500MB...i doubt the DesireZ have full access to the 1.1GB...space still need to be allocate for OS and phonebook internal storage. And the amount of apps to fill that 1.1GB space is quite a lot. The game data folder will most probably be stored on the SD card. Not saying that 1.1GB is the point to stop increasing internal storage, but I think it shouldn't be a deterrent to purchasers. You should install the 'DiskUsage' app and see. QUOTE(Json188 @ Mar 22 2011, 11:00 AM) 1) What I don't know is that how big is an app could be? Because in my Nokia 5800 case, there's only less than 100MB internal phone storage needed to store messages, contacts, apps and files. But Symbian apps usually used around average of 500KB to 1MB. So still consider okay and can store above 40 apps if you store files in Micro SD, so no big problem installing apps (Of course you still can install apps in Micro SD as well), so if you say IS have around 400MB to 500MB left, if apps only used around average 10MB to 20MB, I think that is still consider fine. Nokia 5800 was my last phone b4 changed to Android...LOL. Symbian cannot compared.....Yes, with 400MB, the problem is not as persistent like the HTC Desire, but some people reported that SGS has 1.6GB usable. It's not only apps that is store in the internal storage i think. Also the data of the app, for example, all your widgets...news, FACEBOOK, twitter and e-mails, all these will use up space in your internal storage as time goes by when news/mails/updates are pumped in. And there'll be a lot more fantastic apps on the Android compared to the Symbian and you'll want them all...and they're FREEE.....LOL.2) If you are not into photography and video recording, then nothing much need to say, if you are, then you know the difference. QUOTE(Kadajxii @ Mar 22 2011, 11:10 AM) Dude, newbies here, wanna ask ask abt the memory storage stuff. can u differenciate out which can b store on sd card and which have to store in internal memory? *from the pocketphone review, incredible S oni have abt 600MB nia* but not sure la~ @@ not a user yet~ A lot of apps can only be installed INTERNALLY in the internal storage. There's no way to move them (unless you do some hacks which can fool the SD card as internal storage....too much trouble and risk if you just want to use your phone). I can see in my HTC Desire...a lot of small small apps all cannot move...only maybe newer apps and none critical apps can move to external storage. But with 600MB, the problem should be less prevalent then on my miserable HTC Desire. |

QUOTE(Kadajxii @ Mar 22 2011, 11:30 AM) ouh~ thx thx~ den what is the avg size of those small small appz and critical appz?? 600mb is so so small le Generally i am happy with the HTC Desire except this internal storage problem and the crappy camera problem. Camera not so much issue...plan to buy a dedicated Pro-sumer camera anyway...but the internal storage cannot solve. read ur previous post, seems like u have alot of unhappy exp w htc, come share share @@" bcz i m thinking wanna get IS @@" But i suppose with 600MB, this should be not a main issue since it's like 5 times the usable storage of the HTC Desire. |

QUOTE(sbd @ Mar 22 2011, 12:29 PM) I don't think it has anything to do with OS; the Galaxy S when shipped with 2.1 can do video calls. This was almost a year ago. Of course Nokia phones have been doing this for years now. Then the front camera do what?? |
