Just called SIS and told them my phone problem...they have free pick up for my phone from my office. I've to leave it there for 3 day. They will check it before replace w new one for me. Hope they can really fix my problem. Wouldn't mind even they don't replace a new set for me...sigh...been hang for many times....

bro at last I found that it is not a defect but design. Here is the youtube video which explain about the Hardware of incredible S. The button issue found at 2.31.
It show that the light which behind the search icon.

I dun understand why would there be such a design. If there is, the situation should be the same when viewed in landscape mode.

the state that I found in Hong Kong forum says that

The most special feature in Incredible S is when you rotate your phone, the 4 buttons will rotate accordingly to the phone

i had the same problem, both layered on "back" and "search" button appears to be simultaneously activated in potrait mode, but landscape mode is fine, but mine is AP, i guess i can try what benny suggested.

any method on how to contact HTC malaysia?

Hi guys,

OK, I've read back the previous pages and it seems that there is some confusion regarding this button light problem thing.
I will try my best to explain the best that i can.


1. Json188. I sent to SIS in glenmarie. The HQ

2. Holyboy27. I got the phone on the 1st. I went to SIS on the 3rd to complain about the problem. They replace a new set for me immediately, but even that set was also the same. So, they told me that they dont have any stock so waited till yesterday to finally get it replaced. So that was actually the third IS. The second one they replaced.

3.Yehlai. I never said that all of batch 13 got this problem. All i said was that the staff told me that batch 13 was prone to this problem. Not all, ok..

4. ckming21. The video you posted highlighted about the light intensity of the buttons varies when viewed from different angles. This i can confirm is true. Believe me, i have had 3 IS in two weeks.

However not the same problem as i experienced. What my problem was that as you are looking at you phone , if you tilt it to any sides, you can clearly see the landscape button appearing. That mean the phone is still in portrait mode but you can see both the landscape & portrait button icons together.

I can confirm that this replacement one i got DOES NOT have the problem.
No matter which extreme angle i look at it the landscape button icon does not appear.

FYI.
1. This problem seem to happen only on the back & search button.
2. The 'light leakage'(posted by ckming21) is normal, but the double appearing icon is NOT
3. It seem the most visible when looking from extreme upright. That mean looking down at your phone buttons from top.

I think thats all. Hope i clarified some of your question about the buttons.

Yah, exactly, in portrait mode, I can see the landscape's button appearing too. When I put the phone (portrait) straight to my face, I can see the landscape's Search and Back buttons.

So the third IS that you got is free of this double icon issue?

Yes. It is completely free of this issue. No landscape icon appearing no matter how i look at it. From any extreme angles.
I can confirm with you on that.
