QUOTE(christcwl9 @ Mar 15 2011, 12:22 PM) As mentioned earlier, it won't be easy to find the A42Jp since its EOLed...Spec wise (GPU) Asus is better, but quality-wise the L645 will be better... The L645 has better speakers as well |

You still have 4 months before purchase, come back later?
Choosing now won't affect your final decision anyway Anyway, GTX460 is very powerful, you don't often find them that affordable... You need to consider warranty support for Sager as well.. This post has been edited by [PF] T.J.: Mar 15 2011, 01:15 PM |

Afaik, Macs offers some of the best PCs for designing
I guess it all boils down to whether you want to game or not? If not then just go for the Mac? You'll never know until you try~ No comments on pirated software though, its a taboo here |

Not sure about warranty support, but you can extend the warranty for up to 3 years
Iirc, there's a (2 years warranty extension) promotion for the Z460 at the moment... Personally I'm not very impressed with the price, built and design of the recent HP G series... but that's just me This post has been edited by [PF] T.J.: Mar 15 2011, 03:03 PM |

QUOTE(giaogiao @ Mar 15 2011, 03:03 PM) The new MacBook Pro 13 comes with Intel HD 3000 which is more or less on par with that of ATI5470 Do you really need a powerful GPU for your work? Iinm editing depends more on processing power? Unless its 3D stuffs you're working on Added on March 15, 2011, 3:13 pm QUOTE(wongek @ Mar 15 2011, 03:06 PM) I'm not very sure haha You need to refer to the latest brochure from Lenovo... QUOTE(jaaroquai @ Mar 15 2011, 03:41 PM) Hi The new Inspiron 15R (i3-2310M + Intel HD3000@~RM2k) would be a good choice... need suggestion and recommendations for a laptop. brand - doesnt matter but prefer those that are reliable and less problem budget - 2k spec - aiseh not good in spec. but mainly for web browsing. no need cd/dvd rom. maybe minor photo editing like import/export, crop. not major ones. prefer fast boot/opening programs. size - prefer 15in but open to suggestion as well. thanks edit - forgot. plus a reasonable hard disk capacity. Do refer to Dell Malaysia for more details.... There's even one Inspiron 15 priced at RM1.3k only (source:http://www.dell.com/my/p/inspiron-15-intel-n5010/pd), probably typo I think LOL This post has been edited by [PF] T.J.: Mar 15 2011, 03:53 PM |

QUOTE(giaogiao @ Mar 15 2011, 03:55 PM) I thought i would wanna play games like CODMW2 when i get my new lappie. Then perhaps it would be better to get something more powerful? Talking bout multimedia editting, my usage is process photo, photoshop. and may be full hd movie editting in the future? Dell XPS 15, Dell Studio XPS 16 are worth looking into... or perhaps Vaios? |

QUOTE(jaaroquai @ Mar 15 2011, 03:55 PM) thanks. will check it out. lol..... This one Inspiron 15R (i3-2310M + Intel HD3000@~RM2k) has better CPU and GPU wohooo... ya lah. 1.3k. any difference with the one you mentioned? pro and cons? between the 2 products you stated. Its newer technology, so its best to pick this 1 instead If you don't mind the specs, you can also go for the RM1.3k one (if it exists), and use the remaining money to extend the warranty This post has been edited by [PF] T.J.: Mar 15 2011, 04:09 PM |

QUOTE(giaogiao @ Mar 15 2011, 06:13 PM) I did look at the New XPS 15 also. Definitely won't lag I customize to: new i7 SB 8Gb Ram Full HD 1980x1280 resolution Backlit keyboard 9 cell batt. then ended up around rm4.5k already. btw, just wanna check, if my lappie got Full HD display, means it shouldnt lag when i play 1080 recorded video right? Or the normal HD ones also can smoothly? Its a powerful lappy o... Even way cheaper models can handle the load... Personally I think you should decrease the specs and spend some money on the warranty... This post has been edited by [PF] T.J.: Mar 15 2011, 06:29 PM |

QUOTE(Wonka @ Mar 15 2011, 06:13 PM) Hi, I'm currently looking for a laptop so that I can bring it with me to travel or just hanging out. 13 inch Toshiba Portege T230 (U5400 + Intel HD@~RM1.8k) seems to fit the description... Its light and offers decent battery life 1. Brand: Preferably Dell or Asus or Toshiba or if you have any other brands to recommend then you can just tell me. 2. Budget: My budget is hopefully somewhere less than 2k. 3. Specs: Whats most important in my specs is Intel proc, at least 2GB ram, and 500GB HDD. 4. Size: Preferably 12-13" cause I want it to be lightweight if I were to bring it to travel. Thanks in advance. Or if you prefer more processing power and less battery life and higher weight, then can consider Dell Inspirons 13R... Asus 1215b would be good as well for daily computing but it runs on AMD Added on March 15, 2011, 6:42 pm QUOTE(vdsb2008 @ Mar 15 2011, 06:24 PM) I'm looking for a notebook for college studying, it can last up to 10 hours cause i lazy to bring along charges (my bag too heavy with books) . i found asus u41jf which is portable & power saving with rm27++. pls recommend any other brand/model or pls comment opinion for owner of u41jf. tq. I doubt the U41Jf can hit the 10 hours battery mark haha 1. Brand: pls recommend 2. Budget: less than rm2800 3. Specs: intel i5 4. Size: 14", good for CAD no play pc games (facebook game maybe), just online, CAD, excel/words/powerpoint. Anyway, other alternatives include Asus U36Jc (i5-480M + G310M@RM3k; 13 inch, 1.7kg), Acer 3820TG/4820TG (i5-480M + ATI 6550@RM2.2k-2.4k), Lenovo V470 (i7-2630QM + Intel HD graphics 3000@RM2699)... its either more processing power, or longer battery lives... Do take note that these laptop won't last 10 hours as well since they're 13/14 inchers... Added on March 15, 2011, 6:43 pm QUOTE(Lihao @ Mar 15 2011, 06:31 PM) 1. Brand. Any gaming? Preferred size?Any Brand but with quality. 2. Budget. Around RM3500. 3. Specs. Hope can get second generation i7. 4. Size. dont too heavy, need bring to school everyday. QUOTE(Riddhy @ Mar 15 2011, 06:43 PM) i have a shell shocker for you dell launched new inspiron 14r Yup, there are new models from Dell:at rm 2349 online price you can get a i5 2410m+ radeon 6630m (480sps+gddr3) now gt 540m/gt 550m they are on par or have the same caliber of radeon 5650/5730/6550/6570 gddr3 so graphic wise 6630 will beat gt 550m or will be equal to it so xps 15 have weaker gc than inspiron 14r btw 6630m is heavily downclocked @485 mhz you guys can easily oc to 600mhz~650 mhz. also i want to some recommend about 13 inch light laptops within 2k with mid graphics like 6550 in it only model i see is acer 3820tg with i3 380m+6550 is there any other brands? like this spec from asus/hp/dell/toshiba/msi/lenovo etc? i really prefer a i5+6550 with a 13 inch. 14 inch Dell Inspiron 14R (i5-2410M+AMD HD 6630@~RM2.4k) 15 inch Dell Inspiron 15R (i7-2630QM + Nvidia GT525@RM2.7k) and a lot of SB Latitude laptops The AMD HD 6630 should be around the same level as ATI 6550? Need to wait for benchmarks... 13 inch with i5 + 6550? Acer 3820TG only as you've mentioned haha Perhaps you should wait for the new Acer 3830? Nothing comparable from other brands at the moment I think |

Should be Satellite A665 (i7-740QM+ GT330M@~RM3.2k)which is better in terms of gpu? Generally ATI 6550 (4820TG)> ATI5650 (Inspiron 15R)>GT330M (A665)..
