Asus N53SV comfirm no USB3.0 ??
If so , Dell Inspiron 15R got 2 ports of USB 3.0 will it be a good buy too ?
*
Depends on whether you need to transfer large files alot?
If you don't, then there's no real use? laugh.gif

Hi guys, my sis asking me to survey for a laptop for her as she want to use it soon. her budget is around RM2k can slightly up to RM2.3k. her main usage is for surf net, and do some office work. can suggest me some models as i have too long time not update myself with laptop price anymore... >.<
*
I guess looks are more important than specs for girls hehe:
11.6" Sony Vaio Y (E350 + AMD HD6310@RM1.7k)
14" Sony Vaio E, i3-380M + Intel HD@RM2299

yeah, looks definitely is more important for girls~  thumbup.gif
but its kind of hard for me cuz i prefer spec rather than look, price with RM2.3k can get her a i5 already if i m not wrong. sad.gif
*
RM2.3k can get you SB i5 already nod.gif
But since its not your laptop, I guess no real need to persuade her to get higher specs since it'll probably be overkill for her anyway haha laugh.gif

is it same as K53SV from other country??
or same design with old A series???
*
Build quality and craftsmanship of the N series are better as well...
Yup, other countries its called "K" instead of "A" series nod.gif

Here are the available options (not including 13 inchers) tongue.gif :

Perhaps you should take 13 inchers into consideration (but not much within RM2k) since I think they are the most optimized in terms of power/performance? But its up to you in the end la hehe

Below are some reviews on laptops running on:
AMD C-50
http://www.notebookcheck.net/Review-Toshib...ok.46551.0.html

AMD E-350
http://www.notebookcheck.net/Review-Acer-A...ok.49617.0.html
http://www.laptopmag.com/review/laptops/sony-vaio-yb.aspx

This will give you a rough picture on the heat produce, but do take note that whether its hot or not relies on the cooling system of the laptop too.
Anyway heat issue is never mentioned in the reviews nod.gif

Okay guys, I've bought the Asus N53SN from Hikari85. I decided to get the i7 one since I think it's a better investment for a long term use. So far I'm loving it, very solid built and nice looking as well.  nod.gif

hi my mom wants a new laptop and she wants it today, like seriously  sweat.gif
she say her budget is less than 2k, and she just wants a laptop to use it downstairs infront of the tv.

budget : < 2k
using for light surfing, light power point/words, light facebook, and some banking.

what brand and model is the best thanks!!
*
Preferred size? I think this will do just fine laugh.gif But you need to purchase from Dell.

Dell (Specs customizable)
Inspiron 15, T4500 + Intel GMA x4500@RM1299

Just make sure you extend the warranty and you'll be fine~

Need recommendation:

1. Brand = any
2. Budget = 2k or below
3. Specs = i5, 4GB RAM, dedicated GC
4. Size = 14" with minimum 1440x900 resolution
5. mainly for web surfing, Excel (hence the need of higher screen resolution), occasionally Photoshop, no 3D games, movies...

Thanks in advance smile.gif
*
Don't think you can get 1440x900 or higher resolution for your budget...
Perhaps you can look at 2nd hand Dell Studios? Or Sony Vaios hmm.gif

So how much deeper do I need to dig into my pocket? 2.5k?

High resolution screens for 13/14 inchers are kind of rare and very expensive...
As far as I know, this are some of the models:
Sony Vaio CW, i5-520M + Nvidia GT330M + (1600 x 900)@RM3999, Colors: Red/Black/White/Pink
Sony Vaio CW, i5-520M + Nvidia GT330M + (1600 x 900) + Bluray@RM4999

Edit: There's 2 Dell Latitude with customizable resolution i.e. Dell Latitude E5420 (~RM3.5k) & 6420 (~RM5k).. You can check them out at Dell's website.

Or perhaps some other sifus can point out some just in case I miss them out? notworthy.gif

Yup, the speakers are good laugh.gif Should be better than those of the VX6
But you should wait for the AMD Fusion powered NB550D instead, the NB520 is just not powerful enough....
And the positioning of the speakers is rather awkward, as pointed out by lee_what sifu laugh.gif

guys ,is me again , erm i have few question to ask u pros

1. is it good if our battery alrdy 100% and we still dont unplug the charger and keep charging? will it damage to our adapter or any other parts?

2.why i play cod black ops i face some lag but while i attach to charge battery and i dont face any lag and smooth somemore?(i have put nvidia high performance graphic on the manage 3d setting there)
thank you guys..
*
Not sure about question 2...

As for Q1, the battery will be affected tremendously by heat, so its best to remove the battery during gaming... nod.gif
Once it reaches 100%, the electricity will be diverted from the battery iinm..

Whats the best SB laptop with a 15 INCH Full HD, with Optimus/ Switchable Graphics technology?

I dont care if its ATI or Nvidia.

I need at least 3 hours of WIFI ON / Word / Browsing usage. and Powerful gaming on the go.

Budget?
Dell XPS15 is the only choice (for a limited budget) I think if you want FullHD nod.gif

The one in Bolds would be the best if you exclude Acer's 5750G... But do take note that the Y560P does not support GPU switching nod.gif

lee_what sifu probably means that the GPU won't be powerful enough for you to play games in FullHD, lowering the resolution will do the job nod.gif
