i see, now i'm eyeing those m11x-r3, don't know if it worths it or not unsure.gif
*
If you're already planning to get an Alienware M11x, then its worth it... there's a huge improvement on the R3 nod.gif
If not, then perhaps the Acer 3830Tg would be a better choice nod.gif

i don't make any decision yet, u know for the price 3.8k,
for sure can get other laptop with better spec, that's what i'm thinking.
*
Very true, but sometimes its best not to decided solely based on specs...
If you really like the Alienware, why compromise and end up with something you don't like at all but has better specs? hmm.gif
You'll probably be stucked to the same laptop for a couple of years, might as well get one that works well + looks great while doing that laugh.gif

need some advice and recommendations.

If my requirement for Laptop is mostly use for Adobe program like Photoshop, illustrator.

Any recommendations.

Aiming Dell 15R i7 RM 2699 at the moment. Unluckily it was not 8 GB and only available 4 GB.

Thanks.
*
Budget? Preferred laptop size?
RAM can be upgraded later on, no problems there nod.gif

But the warranty will be void.
Below 3k if possible ? or should i go for lower spec ?

15 " is the best. Actually not for mobile.
*
Some other 15"
Acer Aspire 5750G, i7-2630QM + Nvidia GT540M(2GB) @RM2899
Asus N53Sn, i7-2630QM + Nvidia GT550M@RM3299 [Bang & Olufsen]
HP DV6-6001TX, i7-2630QM + AMD HD6770@RM3699 [Beats], Beats headphones; RM3199 without Beats headphones

I've only suggested those running on SB i7s since you're into Photoshopping. If you're not into gaming at all then these alternatives would be overkill haha laugh.gif

Nope, you won't void the warranty if you only change the RAM nod.gif

What about a given estimation of a 13 or 14 inch laptop?
GPU depends on those available on the market of course.
*
Still hard to say la laugh.gif
There's a lot of factors involved, including the size of the battery...
Anyway, let's take the 13" Toshiba Portege R830 for example (i5-2410M + Intel HD3000, 6-cell battery)... its capable of up to 7 hours nod.gif

I think the same way with you. Not use for gaming actually, so those high spec card is not usable for me even the Acer is  only 200 more (do offer on PC fair only RM 2699 to compete Dell). Actually Dell also offer good GC card also.

Thanks for ur information. Btw, what is the cost for 1 unit 4gb. is there available 2 slot for Ram ?

Dell do offer me an best price for 15R.
*
Yeah, if not using for gaming, then there's noneed for a GPU...
And nope, the GPU on the Inspiron 15R is not exactly good haha laugh.gif

Asus N53Sn has 4 RAM slots iinm.... 4GB RAMs will be relatively dearer than 2GB ones...

You can refer here for more pricing details on them RAMs: http://images.lowyat.net/pricelist/cycom.pdf

Try LYN Garage Sales ppl, some offer even more competitive prices hehe, someone like viper88 laugh.gif

Acer Aspire 4750, i5-2410M + Intel HD3000@RM1999

HP Pavilion G4, i3-2310M + AMD HD6470@RM1999

I get offer for Acer Aspire 5750G, i5-2410M + Nvidia GT540M(2GB) @RM2399 as only RM 2175

And sell out the yes doggle and 2 user of anti virus. it was only RM 2000. bough for my friend

And enjoy the warranty of 3 year. anything just go back to warranty. hahaha
*
Its a good deal, but without gaming, it'll be pointless... summore the dedicated GPU will generate more heat nod.gif

Ya also, but just want to max the value of money and get the best offer.

It's good since the producer try to give the promotion and offer to the customer.
*
Well, if value for money is what you're after, then that's probably the best choice nod.gif
But the thing is not everyone wants the best specs for the price, some opt for other features instead nod.gif
I also like companies offering free warranty hehe~

just check around..appears that iconia w500 seems to be running a 1ghz processor..wonder if it will cause any lag in the tablet..Asus and Toshiba is kinda expensive..and MSI no news regarding it sweat.gif

deciding if getting an Android Honeycomb such as the Asus transformer or Motorola Xoom will be a nice idea ><
*
I think Honeycomb isn't very resouce-hungry... so I guess a 1ghz processor would be up to the task nod.gif
And it seems like we'll be having a shortage of supply for the Transformer due to the disaster at Japan sad.gif

QUOTE(lowyat.net)
Have you checked out our recent preview of ASUS Eee Pad Transformer? Like it? Well, if you do, make sure to grab it as soon as it arrived in local stores sometime this month as the supply are expected to be very scarce due to the shortage of components. Apparently, this limitation forces ASUS to scale down Transformer’s production from 30,000 units to only 10,000 units per month.

To make matter worse, the shortage happens not because ASUS is not able pump more money into obtaining those components but there are simply not enough supplies around. There is one good news though: this shortage is expected to last only till mid of June.

Still, if you want to be one of the first groups of consumers to get their hands on the spanking new tablet, better make friends with your favourite retailers now to secure you unit.

I was wondering whether the amd zacate is a good proc for laptop or do u have a better suggestion? thanks ^^ Normal size laptop screen ok le dun1 netbook... Thanks agan
*
Whether its good or not depends on the usage? hmm.gif
I guess your uncle probably don't game right? hehe
If that's the case, its better to go for the Intel P6100/6200 processors instead of the AMD Zacate nod.gif

P6100/6200 would be better in terms of processing power, but loses out in GPU power when compared to the AMD E350 nod.gif
This would be good:
Toshiba Satellite C640-1023U, P6200 + Intel HD@RM1599, W7HP, 2nd & 3rd year warranty
