Hmm, alright. So basically for supporting full HD and stuff end of class 3 sufficient enough right? Base on

Added on April 17, 2011, 3:35 pmAcer Aspire 4743ZG, P6200 + Nvidia GT520M@RM1749
Asus A42Jz, P6200 + AMD HD6470@RM1599
By the GPU clocking is not much difference but how come the difference is around 200 geh?

Added on April 17, 2011, 3:37 pmAnyway, so now all the i-series new model also using SB type?
*
Your full HD refers to playing full HD movies? Even an AMD E-350 + AMD HD6310 in a netbook could do that nowadays laugh.gif
We can't compare price differences between laptops merely based on specs nod.gif
Some of the additional costs may be applied on materials, additional features, built, warranty etc.

SB processors generally have codes of i3-2xxxM, i5-2xxxM, i7-2xxxm, i7-2xxxQM nod.gif

@[PF] T.J.

Thanks for so much info. yea was keep struggling with the GPU to support up to playing full HD movie on 22'' LCD. Since then gpu is not my concern, In Aug i think evenĀ  a 1.5k laptop also can support the requirement easily. Probably by that time will be asking you what notebook big bang for money wise again. cheer. =) thanks again
*
Err... A RM1.5k laptop can already support now? laugh.gif

are both of them 2nd batch SB's ?
*

whoa, Asus N53SN keyboard sucks big time. hahaha~ still managing myself to survive with this notebook's keyboard. =pp
*
The flexes can be annoying if you're a hard typer nod.gif
I've tried the keyboard on the smaller N43, and I like it very much, the large buttons can ensure very accurate and fast typing nod.gif
Oh ya, you can always get an external keyboard if its too much nod.gif

The chiclet keyboard not good?

Which one?
The keyboard buttons on the N series are not chiclets nod.gif
They're abit different. Typing feel is good, but the problem is flexes which are especially apparent on 15 inch models sad.gif

I means the A series chiclet keyboard, is that 14" one got problem?
*
As eugenechiuu mentioned, the A series keyboards are okay, not too good, not too bad nod.gif
Personally I feel that the ones on the new A43Sv are abit too "shallow", they don't sink much during typing, not so good there compared to chiclets from Macs and Sonys hmm.gif

If you're into photoshopping, then its:
Acer Aspire 4750G, i5-2410M + Nvidia GT 520@RM2249, 3 years local limited warranty
MSI FX420, i5-2410M + AMD HD6470@RM2299, 3 years warranty
The 3 years warranty promotion is worth it drool.gif
Yeah, stated are RRP prices, you might even get to bargain and still get around RM50+ off the price tag?

Not much options I fear:
Dell (Specs customizable)
Inspiron 15R, i3-2310M + Intel HD3000@RM1999
Vostro 1015, T6670 + Intel GMA x4500@RM1579

MSI
CR650, AMD E350 + AMD HD6310@RM1399, W7S, McAfee (3 users)

I would go for the one underlined... it'll be good if you could extend the warranty nod.gif

bro's if there's a later upgrade of the N53SN i7 one, please update here yeah. tongue.gif
since if there's a new one coming out in 3 weeks, i might opt for that one instead of N53SN. hehe
*
Don't worry, I don't think there will be any more updates on the N53Sn, at least not yet...
I think more focus will be placed on the N43 instead...
Anyway, will let you know if there's anything new

You'd probably noticed that the prices of laptops sold during PC fairs are around RM100 more than usual price...
If you want the cheapest, deal in Garage Sales thumbup.gif

Hi guys, need some advice.
Am looking for an all-rounder laptop, budget below RM3000.
For assignments, occasional light gaming, some simple photoshop jobs, movies songs etc.
Screen size 14" or 15.6" will do fine.

What would you recommend ?
From Asus there is N53SV.
Any other good contenders ?
Any idea how much are the latest ones from Toshiba ? E300 ? L700 series ?
*
14"
Acer 4830Tg@RM2499, Asus N43SL@RM2599, Asus A43Sv (i5@RM2399-2599/i7@RM2899), HP Dv4@RM2899, Inspiron 14R@RM2349, Asus U41Sv@RM2899~
I think the one underlined would be the best since the speakers will come in handy~
If you're going for looks, then the Acer 4830Tg will definitely be the pick~
Performance-wise (GPU), the HP Dv4 is so far the best at the moment, but since you only do light gaming, guess its not really needed...

For 15", its pretty much Acer 5750G, Asus N53Sn, and Lenovo Y560P
You can refer here for the prices of the Satellite E300 and Satellite L700: http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1809427

Yeah, I remembered HP used to offer 5 years warranty, not sure whether its still available now or not hmm.gif
But getting that on a netbook is not worth it as the technology will be obsoleted in no time sad.gif
