Gaming:
1. Asus A43Sv i5-2410M + Nvidia GT540M@RM2499
2. Acer Aspire TimelineX 4830TG, i5-2410M + Nvidia GT540M@RM2499
3. Dell Inspiron 14R, i5-2410M + AMD HD6630@RM2349

Well, this is pretty obvious… These are the models with the best GPU in the market right now. So it’s all down to personal preference on brand. 4830TG came 2nd even though it's cheaper than A43Sv since it comes with integrated battery. Granted it saves some trouble, but we all know heat is the No1 enemy of battery, and gaming = lots of heat produced. Do take note this may change soon as Asus N43 series and Dell XPS 14 are getting updated soon

Do take a look at:
Vostro 3550 (15 inch): http://www.dell.com/my/business/p/vostro-3550/fs
Vostro 3750 (17 inch): http://www.dell.com/my/business/p/vostro-3750/pd

It'll be good if you could fork out some extra money to purchase the warranty, it'll be well worth it nod.gif

Asus N53Sn, i7-2630QM + Nvidia GT550M@RM3299 [Bang & Olufsen]
The additional top up will be well worth it because of the much better GT550M GPU (assuming you're a demanding gamer) compared to the usual GT540M nod.gif

Past my budget. I decided that it has to be less than 3k. Cant afford one past that. =\

Any cheaper suggestion? (I don't mind lowering graphix for games)
*
Well, depending on whether you prefer processing power or graphic power more,
15 inchers (excluding Acer 5750G):
Asus N53Sv, i5-2410M + Nvidia GT540M@RM2799 [Bang & Olufsen] for graphic power,
Dell Inspiron 15R, i7-2630QM + Nvidia GT525M@RM2699 for processing power.

As for 14 inchers:
Asus A43Sv, i5-2410M + Nvidia GT540M@RM2599
Asus U41Sv, i5-2410M + Nvidia GT540M@RM2899

Here are some poison from Acer, you should at least take a look through them brows.gif
14 inch: TimelineX 4830TG, i5-2410M + GT540M@RM2499
15 inch: Aspire 5750G, i7-2630QM + Nvidia GT540M@RM2899

Save money on the portable lappy, as long as the specs can support your needs, it's enough already. Capable laptops are quite cheap nowadays nod.gif
I think you should allocate more money for getting another GPU for your desktop thumbup.gif

Sorry guys this questions might be out topic from the original topic but I really don't want to open up a new thread for just asking a simple question. Ok, here's my questions, may I know the warranty provided by the manufacturer include dust cleaning service? Btw, my laptop is under Toshiba local warranty.
*
Nope, dust cleaning is not included. But should other components fail and you need to send your lappy back to Toshiba, you could always request them to clean out the dust.
The technicians there charges RM100 to help clean up the dusts sweat.gif
Perhaps you should try vacuum cleaning the vents, or just open the laptop up, should be a lot of videos available on the internet. Or maybe you can ask lee_what2004 sifu laugh.gif

adi booked vostro 3550 , dell cancelled me .
prefer 15.6" , but not many 15.6" with i3 .
so now goin for 14" i3 coz cheaper , like the lenovo asus and fujitsu.
budget = cheaper better laugh.gif

LOL, I was just about the recommend the 3550 laugh.gif
How come they cancel you? Payment not accepted? hmm.gif

13":
Aspire 3750G, i5-2410M + Nvidia GT520M@RM2199

14":
Acer Aspire 4750G, i5-2410M + Nvidia GT 520@RM2249, 3 years local limited warranty
MSI FX420, i5-2410M + AMD HD6470@RM2099, FreeDOS/RM2299(W7HP), 3 years warranty
Lenovo G470, i3-2310M + Intel HD3000@RM1599, FreeDOS
LifeBook LH531, i3-2310M + Intel HD 3000@RM1899, FreeDOS

If its me, I would go for the MSI, due to the 3 years warranty (1st year global).. warranty is rather important in budget-line laptops, for a peace of mind

Quality-wise, TimelineX series is better than the Aspire series nod.gif

i havent see all the lappies im considering haha .
now also headache whether i need usb3.0 anot , most i3 lappies dont have .
aih , too many choices..
btw i just read , ivy bridge out in a year . so lappie 1 year old ok dah , no need 3 yrs warranty HAHAHA
*
Planning to sell your lappy and get an Ivy Bridge powered one soon? hmm.gif
Usually Dell stores don't display Vostro and Lattitude business models, probably due to low demand sad.gif
Yeah, you should go and touch and feel each laptop and then decide, specs ain't everything when buying a laptop nod.gif
As for USB3.0, unless you transfer lots of time for most of the time, its not really needed...
Not many choices only la laugh.gif

If you want better specs, then 15.6" Acer 5750G (i7-2630QM + Nvidia GT540M@RM2899) nod.gif
Usually smaller-sized laptops have longer battery life, in which case the TimelineX 4830TG, Asus A43Sv will be good nod.gif

usb3.0 is advantageous for me , i do transfer quite abit , but not many ppl have usb3.0 though .. lolol yeah i can live WITHOUT it keke . can just take lappie transfer with lappie.
aih , damn fickle minded . i touch b4 g470/4750g only so far , n teh femes n53sn hahahaha

That, my friend, is considered very few options liao laugh.gif
If only the Acer 3830T/3830TG is available here, it will probably be cheaper than the Acer 4830TG
Personally I like the Lenovo G470 because of the really ergonomic keyboard and a comparatively better design (doesn't look cheap) thumbup.gif
