QUOTE(tedisgodlike @ Apr 7 2011, 11:47 PM) Performance should be roughly the same,Battery life, Dell M102z has 56Wh, HP DM1z has 55Wh, 1215B has 56Wh, roughly same battery as well... But M102z can upgrade to 8-cell 90Wh, Weight, seems like 1215B is lighter... Ideapad S20 no idea. QUOTE(Grif @ Apr 7 2011, 11:51 PM) Gonna need a laptop to replace my ailing lappy. (Currently having random glitchy graphic error). 17'' can consider Dell Vostro 3750, i5 2410M + nVidia GT525M, 1600x900@RM26991. Brand. No preference 2. Budget. RM2-3k. Lower is better obviously. 3. Specs. Something that can run DX10 games reasonably well. Things like Mass Effect 2 and Supreme Commander is a good sample. Battery life is not a concern. Weight is also not a concern. (aka heavy laptops are ok) 4. Size. 15" is ideal. 17" would be great, but probably will be too expensive. 15'' can consider Acer 5750G, i7 2630QM + nVidia GT540M@RM2899 Dell Inspiron 15R, i7 2630QM + nVidia GT525M@RM2699 |

QUOTE(simplybored @ Apr 10 2011, 07:39 PM) guys i forgot to ask. the dell 14r, how is the keyboard layout? to press the F1 F2 ... buttons you need to press and hols the "Fn" button right? won't that be bad for games that needs fast F1 F2 tapping? There usually have option to change the F keys behaviour, either on BIOS or Windows Mobility Center.. |

QUOTE(jusjus88 @ Apr 11 2011, 09:44 PM) Curious, i scared they scam the RAMs supplied to me (since it's built-in). How to check if they're all 1333Mhz and DDR3? DDR3 is a must, they can't fit other type RAM..1333MHz would need 3rd party apps to check like CPU-Z, AIDA64, etc.. QUOTE(ivan92 @ Apr 12 2011, 12:04 AM) hello people Screen size ?my friend want to change his laptop any recommend for him? usage: fb game, youtube, watch movie/DVD, doing office paper works/presentation, music, budget is around below 3k thank you very much QUOTE(nicky1112001 @ Apr 12 2011, 12:31 AM) Yup. |

U41Sv is not so so graphics, its the same level with N53Sv/A43Sv
RC410 don't have good graphic, its the worst of all those... Below 2.5KG would restrict it to 14'' and below, and wanted with good audio, rules out of all |

QUOTE(zeez_thebee @ Apr 12 2011, 12:35 PM) wow...thanks for the fast reply! =) hmm icic....rc410 has the worst graphics...din see that coming....it looked pretty smooth n sharp while playing a HD vid (not sure 720p or 1080p)..and the sound system was amazing...tried it in lowyat yesterday...wayyy better than the u41 n few others that i was actually keen in. the only one that matched it's audio was the inspiron 14r. as for the u41...i was quite taken by the design n all...but the flimsy keyboard (the whole thing sinks down when applied a little pressure) n the soft speaker was pretty much a turn off...=/ but those two negatives aside...is u41sv a good buy? performance n durability wise...=D and is samsung a good brand? or shud i go one of the asus mentioned? thanks again! QUOTE(ic3rock @ Apr 12 2011, 12:54 PM) Actually Samsung build their lcd their own le, some more for PC's lcd, Samsung 1 is much better compare with other. Even Toshiba brand also using Samsung's lcd. But other than lcd, i think their laptop so so only... The graphics you guys referring to as in screen quality or graphic card performance ? |

QUOTE(dk1 @ Apr 13 2011, 11:02 AM) I am looking for a laptop for study purposes(doing presentations, assignments, web browsing and maybe watch some movies drg free time). Acer 4830TG, i5 2410M + nVidia GT540M@RM2499I want a durable and if possible long battery life.(cant afford to have my lappy in workshop always) which brand do I go for? what specs should I look out for? should I go for i3 or i5? budget ard 2.3-2.5K. QUOTE(blackcsc @ Apr 13 2011, 11:06 AM) Ya,tat's wat i'm thinking of too.. But with the addition of 600 the processor and GPU r upgraded.. n i rmb oni i7 support USB 3.0 rite ? but 1 thing i dun really like is the keyboard @.@ stil prefer the normal laptop keyboard which dun have so many keys @.@ Tat's y i oso considering the A series... Other than Asus any similar spec's reliable brand recommended ? Its not like only i7 support USB 3.0, but rather that they only give USB 3.0 to the higher spec model... |
