as I know.. most of sifu here will recommend Asus N53SN for 15' laptop..

how for 14'?? got N43SN??  or only got this model?? Asus A42SV,i7-2630QM + GT540M@RM3199..coming soon -Sandy Bridge?

as i know N is premium series.. does A good enough??
*
Asus A43Sv is already out laugh.gif
Even though its not as good as the N series laptops, it should be fine nod.gif
Main competitor would be the Acer 4830Tg nod.gif

Sorry, I was referring to N43SN model which came with GT550M 1GB but not 2GB version, so which mean even though the GT540M has 2GB memory but it's still way weaker than the GT550M 1GB version? Or only little different?
*
I'm not very pro when it comes to technical stuffs, but whether a GPU is good or not is not really determined by the VRAM it has smile.gif

good day sifus...
is 4830tg is the best in value right now for 14" under 2.5k?
plan to buy n53sn@sv but after see the news of its launching, change my mind already...
timelinex series is not problematic as aspire series rite?

sweat.gif back to my early budget 2.5k...

Gaming:
1. Asus A43Sv i5-2410M + Nvidia GT540M@RM2599
2. Acer Aspire TimelineX 4830TG, i5-2410M + Nvidia GT540M@RM2499
3. Dell Inspiron 14R, i5-2410M + AMD HD6630@RM2349

Well, this is pretty obvious… These are the models with the best GPU in the market right now. So it’s all down to personal preference on brand. 4830TG came 2nd even though it's cheaper than A43Sv since it comes with integrated battery. Granted it saves some trouble, but we all know heat is the No1 enemy of battery, and gaming = lots of heat produced. Do take note this may change soon as Asus N43 series and Dell XPS 14 are getting updated soon

Yeah, the built-in battery would be a let-down for most of the gamers it aims at doh.gif
Asus A43Sv is already out nod.gif

which few model in ur mind? acer? 4830Tg, asus N43SN? A43SV? any idea? budget 3.5k.. haha..

The N43SN should be withing RM3.5k range, so you can aim for that. Or perhaps wait for the new Dell XPS14 replacement thumbup.gif
Me? I wait for Alienware M14x wub.gif

Size is the same as 14" right? Or the 14 refers specifically to the screen only?
I know the laptop is heavy, much heavier than regular 15"

I'm deprived of games for quite some time now, been really busy with research sweat.gif

I used to have a team for Counter Strike, and often went to Cyber Cafes to bully ppl laugh.gif

Owning an Alienware is my dream, and seeing that their making a 14 inch one... its just to good to be true wub.gif

normally AW laptops chasis sure bigger then the screen size... not proportional de... lol see M15x ... screen size 15.6 only ... see the size of it XD ... NICE
*
Geezz... that's sort of disappointing and somewhat redundant for my case since I've actually sold a 15.6" to get a smaller one doh.gif
I just hope the chassis won't be as big as 15.6"...
But for an Alienware, I guess compromises have to be made lala rclxm9.gif

M14x i think hor the chasis surely smaller than M15x

Yea, no doubt about that with Dell omitting the keypad... but I don't think it'll be smaller than regular 15.6" laugh.gif
Just look at the leaked photo beside the M17x? or M18x?

If you're not into gaming, I would prefer the ones underlined... they have newer SB processors and are covered by 3 years warranty nod.gif

Curious here, if the bass/subwoofer of the XPS 15 is placed underneath, do i need to at least keep a spacing between it and the table?
*
There will be a spacing if you opt for the 9- cell battery hehe laugh.gif
If not, just raise it with some books/cooler pads?

Shouldn't be a problem. Dell's M102z runs on 64-bits W7 HP as well nod.gif
I'm guessing RM1,699 laugh.gif

My last Q before trying to buy a laptop tomorrow..... Acer 4750G (i5-2410 GT520M) or Dell 15R (i5-2410 HD6630) or waiting for 4830TG.... which one is value for money. Games: Mod Warfare2/Angry Bird/CS. Work: SPSS/Office/Pic editing. BUdget <2.5k... the less the better. Which one is enough for the task. 4750G got YES 4G doggle/AV/3yrs warranty, dell on-site warranty.. difficult to choose with so many SB i5 nowadays. Or any other suitable alternative? Extra money will be saved for investment smile.gif

My vote goes to Asus A43Sv@RM2499 (already available, 2 years international warranty), then Acer 4830TG@RM2499 (Upcoming, integrated battery) nod.gif

Nope
Heat is the battery's biggest enemy, unless you game in air-conditioned room or you don't game at all, the battery will probably spoil after 1-2 years like you said... sad.gif

the acer dual screen , is it worth to buy ? LOL. I think i saw it in lowyat price around 3k .
*
Personally, I don't think its worth it... way to expensive for something with i5-480M, Intel HD graphics, short battery life and act as fingerprint/dust magnet laugh.gif
The only selling point is the fanciness? laugh.gif At least the Libretto W110 offers portability hehe
