Got a call from Maybank today, they offered me Maybankard 2 Gold Card, I'm just a fresh grad so not like you guys here have Platinum Card. blush.gif

Hope this is a good deal. biggrin.gif Since I already have a CIMB Direct Access MasterCard, this time I chose for Amex+Visa. Read from this thread, it seems good comments eh? hmm.gif

Visa or Master basically not much difference

I know but used to have a Visa but got terminated last month because of expiring soon. laugh.gif
I prefer Visa somehow but since I already got a MC from CIMB so this time just chose Visa back. tongue.gif

I think I have not seen any service tax on my CIMB Direct Access if I'm not mistaken. hmm.gif Already got it for about a year now, whatever I swiped reflects on my bill and without service tax.

It will appear on the card's anniversary. The gov service tax exact billing date is stated at the bottom line of your monthly statement.

Oh is it? I'm sorry, I'm pretty new to these CC, I only know to swipe. laugh.gif I gotta check my statement when I go back hometown then.
How much is that? I'm sorry again because this seems to be OT on this topic.

Yes, I just recalled that I have paid that in my first statement. laugh.gif Sorry, bad memory. blush.gif

So, for this MBB2, I'll need to pay RM 100 for 2 cards? sweat.gif

*
Yes, I can't wait for the Starbucks because I'm working in KL Sentral and KL Sentral outlet is one of the participating outlets wub.gif

How can I check on the application status besides calling them? Any way I can check via online? 14 days for the cards to reach me seems so long! laugh.gif

No way to check online.

If your cards have been approved, it'll appear in your M2U if you have saving account with M2U.
*
Oh really? Should be approved I assume because they called me to offer me. laugh.gif
Yes, I have a savings account with Maybank, so it will appear another additional one tab on M2U?

What card ? Maybankard ? It's called Ezypay.

Yes, Maybankard but Ezypay only for participating merchants am I right?
As for CIMB Direct Access, one can convert any purchase to installment. Not sure if Maybank has something like this?

Got. Refer to the upper post called EzyPay Plus.

EzyPay is only available for participating merchants but not for EzyPay Plus.
*
Oh thanks, missed out your post.
But *gulp* 9% interest. laugh.gif
DA is much lower. tongue.gif

I'll continue using DA for this kind of purchase. Maybankard for normal purchase. rclxms.gif

Yes. MBB is a blood sucker!

Oh oh, I feel regret now. tongue.gif

How does the 20 days take into calculation?
For e.g., my current CIMB DA's due date is every month's 3rd, I usually pay on the 28th or 29th using GIRO, that's why I have to pay earlier to avoid any late payment. I can buy a stuff on the 24th and it is only reflected on 27th but I can pay it in the following month's 28th or 29th. I didn't get any penalty though, is this how the calculation works? unsure.gif

Your statement date should be around 12th - 16th every month right ? Transactions made on the 24th are to be billed to the next statement, which is why you there is no interest for this as long as you make the payment in full and on-time before the next due date.
*
Cool! Got it! OK, I'll just forget about this 20-day thingy, kinda confused me at one point of time. tongue.gif My understanding was correct earlier. biggrin.gif
Yes, it is billed every month's 13th if I'm not mistaken.
So put it in a simple way, as long as I pay before 3rd, then I'll be safe eh? biggrin.gif

Just make sure you make full payment (preferably) or the minimum amount as stated in your monthly statement before the due date, which is also stated clearly in your monthly statement then yeah, you'll be safe  smile.gif
*
Sure! I only pay full amount, never pay minimum amount and definitely before due date. biggrin.gif That's my simple principle of using CC. laugh.gif

Like this everyone pays minimum lo and keep the extra money in bank for FD. tongue.gif
The interest is counted based on your outstanding balance. No joke on the interest.

I just called Maybank CS and they haven't received my application because those CC marketers will actually compile all applications and submit one shot. doh.gif
So, she asked me to wait for another 7 working days. sweat.gif

I don't know, these people are working for Maybank.
I checked with the CS, and she confirmed those are Maybank staffs. Well, they called to offer me.
No intention to apply actually. laugh.gif
It's OK la, wait for a few more days. biggrin.gif
