Hi guys quick question on the card.

I am having two cards; HSBC and Citibank just in case if once in a blue moon the card could not be processed I can use my Citibank since its different merchant.

I was planning to move to this maybank CC which gives two cards; amex and visa/master. So I was wondering since its from the same merchant, if lets say amex fails on me, does visa/master fails on me too since both its from the same merchant?

I'm just looking for two cards, limiting myself instead of having many.

Guys you think tomorrow I head to 1U Maybank to register for the card I should be able to get a faster response?

Reason being I don't want to register via web or thru those road show is because it is slow imo. Was planning to go for direct and apply.

Went to maybank card centre and ask about min credit limit for platinum was given the response that maybank actually checks your current annual pay and gauge accordingly different from other cards like hsbc in which you have a minimum credit limit depending on the card type any advice on this(

What do you mean by salary 2x? Does that include commission as well as in total earnings per annum or just the basic and whatever fix allowances?

Huh hang on if you say like 9k or less then it is worse than having a classic card am I right? Why go for plat then besides the plat rewards if the cc limit is lower I still don't get the way it works

Apply my plat card on this week Monday Labour day at 1U card center.

Collected yesterday my amex+visa.

Super fast. Just provide 3 month pay slip, IC and one of previous gold card for credit limit.

Went to 1U Card Centre and apply directly. I opt for VISA as well initially they tell me take 2 weeks because VISA is different card centre to process the card.

But was surprised they call me to collect yesterday at the card centre itself.

Try not to apply outside via roadshow or sales agent as the process will take longer since they will have to submit back to the card center for processing. Unless you want the free gifts they have to offer then it would be different.
